Nice little restaurant just off the highway. Service was great! We stopped right at 5 so it really wasn’t busy. I had the fish tacos, although good, seemed like it was missing something. The taco was just a piece of grilled fish on a soft taco shell. No sauce or any other condiments. Came with your regular beans, rice and a guacamole salad.

I was on my way back from New Orleans heading home to the DFW area when I was in need of some food. I somehow happened upon this place. Being from Texas, I wasn’t holding out much hope for exceptional Mexican food in central Louisiana, but I was incredibly surprised. The refried beans are amongst some of the best I’ve had. I ordered the Bistec Ranchero which was perfectly prepared. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, as well as the decor. If I lived near by, I definitely would be a regular.

I am from a Texas border town. I know my Mexican food. Nicky’s served good food. The service was outstanding and quick. The servings were large and the food was fresh and warm when served. Our server checked several times during the dinner to see if anything was needed. It was a nice dining experience. The restaurant and bathroom were clean.

We found this little gem while searching for seafood. We couldn’t find anything that looked decent or was open and almost passed by here.
The seating was quick and efficient. The staff was friendly, the food was fantastic and the entire experience was spot on. My wife had the crawfish enchiladas and I had the shrimp quesadilla, so we ended up with seafood after all. The menu is not pricy and there are plenty of options.

For Louisiana, this is good Mexican food. If you are form South Texas, well…you just aren’t home and don’t expect the food to be like you are at home. The building was clean, the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was great.

I had such a great time here, and to say I made a happy plate is exactly what I did, I had the Margaritas on the rocks, and a order of cacadias, with house dressing!! So yummy and our waitress was so much fun, and the hostess who we payed our tab with.

I ordered street tacos, portion are big with good value vs price. Chicken tacos can be better. Beef tacos are excellent.
Chips and salsa were also great. They give you a small carafe with salsa.
