The Grandview has been my ‘happy place’ all my life-the most delicious food (reminds me of grandma’s), the BEST haystack onion rings (as good as the old/former ‘Club 41’), nice atmosphere (clean, comfy, decorating is a labor of love-thanks for making the place pretty). But what on earth happened Saturday, Nov. 8th?? ‘They’ saw us walk in, no greeting-a first here. We were going to sit in the 2nd dining-room, but all available tables weren’t bussed. So we sat in the 1st dining-room. We didn’t know the 2 waitresses we saw. We sat at center table between cash register & windows, and wait staff looked at us. Already-seated diners in same room had their orders. The diner ordered a 2nd burger. We continued to sit. Finally, the gal standing behind counter said ‘be with you in a minute’, but we’d already stood-up to leave. This is so unlike the Grandview.

I heard about this restaurant from friends who live in Galesburg. They said it was the best breakfast in town and I would have to agree. The service was friendly and fast and the food was great. Perfectly cooked omelet and good coffee. Can’t ask for much more. I will have to go back to try more!

Service is friendly & prompt. Food is always good. Their portions are huge. I have to order half order of their hot beef. Their menu for breakfast is good as well. Has that homey country vibe. Comfortable dining. Bathroom is clean.

Very nice service and food was very quick. I was looking for a little greasy spoon and this had the mom and pop feel but was not real greasy.which was probably ly best,the food tasted as expected. The reason for 3 stars is there was something in potatoes, you may see it in the pic. I didnt say anything because honestly, spots like this I expect a home cooked meal and that happenes. I point it.out so one can expe t good home quality food.

My husband had their daily Walleye special, AYCE. More breading & grease than walleye. I had the tenderloin w/mashed potatoes & gravy. The gravy was soooo salty, and they were generous with the gravy I might say. I tried scraping off as much of the gravy as possible. Our waitress never came back to our table to check on us or refill our water. Had to flag a different waitress to order a piece of their pie, which never came. We are typically generous tippers, however today was not one of those days. Very disappointed to say the least. We travel through regularly, we definitely will not be back.

A great find! I had a marvelous lunch today at Grandview. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and fries. The staff were busy and yet very friendly and courteous with guests all around. Promptly they took orders, brought drinks and food when it was ready. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is awesome and the prices are fantastic!
