We were visiting Dover for the night on New Year’s Eve. This place was near our hotel. We haven’t been to the 99 in years. One of us got the chicken sandwich, spicy sauce on the side. The other chicken pot pie. Both were delicious. I also ordered boneless chicken wings to go and ate them later in the evening. The wings were excellent. They were crispy, breaded nicely and very tasty. We both got Botanical Bloom drinks, on the menu it’s made with Gin, we opted for Tequila instead and they gladly made them. The drinks were great.
The two women behind the bar were very friendly, it was fairly busy and they were on top of everything. We ate at the bar, there were a few TVs with good views.
Overall the place was nice, the atmosphere was great, the food was excellent and we would certainly go there again.

Great food and reasonable prices. Server was attentive and helpful. Family style dining and not too many distractions with TVs and table devices. We’ll be back. Try the Buffalo Mac n’ Cheese, yum!

We had a delicious but small top sirloin and steak tips with a generous amount mushrooms and onions. The food was good.
The waitress was excellent. Very attentive and kind.

The waitress had attitude. Asked for something and it took 10 minutes or you didn’t get it at all. The lettuce in the salad was brown and wilted. One of the tomatoes on my partners plate was literally rotten. My chicken sandwich was bland at best and over cooked.

99 is definitely under rated as far as chain restaurants go. They offer a great deal that kids eat free if the red Sox win with an adult entre purchase. Great burgers and the gold fever wings are an alltime favorite of mine.

My wife enjoyed her generous portion of steak tips. She upgraded to asparagus, which was delicious. She also upgraded to a side salad which was big, butt mostly disappointing collection of lettuce, two cucumber , two onion slices, a tomato and croutons.
She also order a mudslide martini, which was delicious, but disappointing small serving.
I had a crispy fish sandwich which was good size. It came with French fries. My French onion soup was excellent, steaming hot, melted cheese, and loaded with onion.
Our waitress was friendly, polite, and fast and attentive.
I thought the place smelled a little musty, but my wife did not notice.

Went twice in a years time difference because everyone deserves a second chance. Pasta bowl was flavorless and tasted like it was premade an hour ago. Filled with water on the bottom. Wife had steak which had no seasoning and vegetables for her side which wasn’t fully steamed. Second and final time eating here

Food was very good and our waitress was very nice. The 5 five guys sitting behind us were very loud and didn’t stop yelling over each other. We thought about moving, but decided there were times we could talk normally. Next time we will say something.

This is an edit to a previous review for 99 restaurant in Dover NH. The manager of this location, Chuck, asked my friend and I to come back to his restaurant after we let him know we didn’t love our meals. He promised we would not be disappointed and he was right.
We visited on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch. The hostess that greeted and seated was pleasant. The restaurant and bar area were clean. Our server friendly and efficient. She was able to answer any questions we had about the menu. She was attentive and anticipated our needs; making sure our drinks were refilled promptly without having to ask.
We ordered the chicken fajita flatbread to start and it was delicious.
For the main meal I ordered the buffalo Mac and cheese with no blue cheese and extra sauce on the side. The buffalo chicken was juicy, tender and flavorful. The Mac and cheese was extra creamy and cheesy. The portions were generous.
My friend ordered the baked stuffed shrimp. She chose broccoli and mashed potatoes for her two sides. She also enjoyed her meal. Her shrimp was perfectly cooked. The broccoli was fresh and the mashed potatoes were rich and creamy.
Of all the 99 restaurants I have visited in Massachusetts and New Hampshire ( most recently Manchester NH) Dover NH location on hotel drive was the best overall experience.

99 is a solid place, just not that exciting. Good for families. Good apps, but nothing revolutionary and some items are boring/meh. Drinks are okay but not awesome. I find they’re often out of certain ingredients needed to make specialty items which is disappointing. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and it’s never a bad time. It’s just not something I can rave about.
