Given the price, my expectations were high but I left underwhelmed. Some things I didn’t enjoy:
1. We had to wait a bit for our table. It felt like the restaurant was understaffed as the bartender was having to do multiple jobs, serving the bar, being hostess and server for the main seating area.
2. The steak was undercooked. I expected medium rare and it was rare to blue. At the table next to me I saw that the pork was also woefully undercooked, probably dangerously so.
3. A couple of the toilets didn’t flush. The automatic sensor on two of the toilets seemed to be broken.
4. The server bringing the food to the table didn’t seem to be happy at all, and this translated to his service. He didn’t know who had what (party of two) which is a small thing but for the price I’d expect that somewhere it was written down who ordered what. Could be a process issue, but given the server’s general demeanor, I assumed he didn’t care.

On the positive side, most of the staff were excellent, the drinks were good the scallops and jumbo shrimp appetizer were tasty.

However given the negatives, I doubt we’ll be back.

We had a wonderful experience at 980 Prime. Our server, Heidi, was amazing. She was attentive, knowledgeable and fun. My husband got the special (rib cap) and I got the braised beef ravioli. Both were cooked to perfection. We shared the Arroyo cocktail and it was the best drink I’ve ever had. 980 Prime exceeded our expectations – we will be back!

First off, Emily (our server) and Harmony (manager) were incredible !! Emily took time to explain everything and spend time talking with us !! Harmony was continually bopping around to everyone’s table .. making sure everything was perfect for each customer !!! There was absolutely no wait time for our table (maybe because we made a reservation… so making a reservation would be recommended to ensure no waiting)

We chose a bottle of wine (a very nice Cabernet). The 980 offers a variety of well priced bottles. The food was incredible… The filet mignon was perfect (ordered medium rare). The onion soup and the wedge salad (quite large) were delicious. The wild salmon was very tasty and the side dish we chose (Potato puree) was large enough for two people.

Having read some of the negative reviews, we came in looking for any… THERE WERE NONE !!! What a wonderful experience we had… A big thank you to Emily, Harmony and the kitchen staff !!!

I have had one of the top ten steaks in the United States when I was in Omaha and the 40-day dry aged ribeye at 980 Prime BLEW IT OUT OF THE WATER. The steak was the best I have ever had in my life, hands down. I ordered it medium and it was a little over that but not medium-well…the absolute sweet spot in my opinion. The steak was tender, melted in my mouth, and had amazing flavor. I seriously stopped to savor EVERY bite. My wife even told the waiter to take the steak because I wasn’t talking to her anymore while I enjoyed this amazing cut of meat.

I have zero clue what people are saying on here about bad experiences. Staff was amazing, friendly, and quick to respond, checked on you the correct amount, and all have absolutely amazing life stories. If people take the time to enjoy the food, atmosphere, and be friendly to the staff, I promise this is worth the trek to Cripple Creek.

980 prime is by far the best restaurant in Cripple Creek. From the moment you walk in, you will be greeted with the friendliest hostess. The restaurant layout is amazing with a relaxing bar and seating area. We have visited a few times now, and every time, it has been beyond amazing. The wait staff is incredibly knowledgeable and very attentive. The food was amazing. Last time, we had the seafood souffle made table side, which makes for a great presentation. By far, our favorite part of dinner is always a hand-made smoked old fashion made table side. Spencer does an amazing job explaining the whole process and educating you all while making the best drink you will ever have. From a date n8ght to just a noght out with friends, you must indulge yourself just once here.

First our server was great She gets 5 stars from me. Wish I could remember her name but she is from Florida. My aunt loved your nails. Thank you for putting up with my aunts complaining
Came in with my aunt and uncle 2/22 for a 6pm dinner.

We all had steaks and considering the price we expected to be impressed. The steaks was no better than you can get at Texas roadhouse to be honest. I can get a bigger steak with 2 sides for a third of the price I payed for a 12oz ribeye which was around 95$

Total bill for 3 people around 400$

We stayed at the chaminox casino and was surpised there is no direct indoor route to there very own restaurant. Very odd for a brand new hotel/ steakhouse. Oh well I guess

Wowwww! World class experience!!

I was absolutely blown away by my experience here. Everything from the atmosphere to the food and service were top notch!

980 prime is level of style and class you would expect to only find in Vegas. This is definitely Colorado’s best kept secret!

Special thanks to Mark, Stewart and the Executive chef Raul for ensuring everything was phenomenal from start to finish.

Don’t wait, go checkout this incredible gem yourself!

Drinks were good, the staff was friendly and attentive.. but at 9:30pm when theres all of 3 tables they better be. The food was less than impressive. We got the meatball and ravioli appetizer, the meatballs were small, lukewarm, and crunchy. Not a great flavor either. We got the lambchops and king crab. The crab felt like they tried way too hard to give flavor to Alaskan king crab, which doesn’t need a lot. It just ended up tasting overseasoned and disappointing. The lamb was very tender, well cooked, but seasoned to high heaven which made a crust that was so sweet it was a little overwhelming for my taste. Skipped dessert. Honestly the atmosphere is good, the staff was great, but for $60-100 a plate i expect way more than they delivered in food quality.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and were very disappointed. The prices are extremely high, which would have been acceptable for a special occasion if the quality matched. Unfortunately, the seafood made both my wife and me very sick, which ended up ruining much of our trip.

When a hostess briefly asked how our food was, we shared our disappointment, but our server never returned to the table afterward until it was time to leave. The steak was mediocre at best, and even the $15 baked potato failed to impress.

While maybe ordering seafood in Colorado wasn’t the best idea, we certainly didn’t expect to spend our anniversary sick. For a restaurant charging these prices, the quality and service should be far better. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I would not recommend dining here.
