At this restaurant, you can enjoy both shabu-shabu and barbecue at the same table, a unique experience in itself. The selection includes fresh seafood like conch and crab, and next time, I’m planning to bring my own seasoning for cod stew or steamed cod to elevate the experience even further.
The spacious interior and ample seating create a comfortable atmosphere, though the display of ingredients could use some improvement. Despite that, the availability of rare finds like conch and fresh cod, all offered in an all-you-can-eat style, makes it a standout choice.
Best of all, the satisfying meal came at just $28 per person, offering exceptional value for money. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu next time!
The only thing is, it was very hot when we went there and unfortunately got a table near their open door. So the enjoyment of the hot soup was a bit minimized because we were profusely sweating while eating. Nevertheless we still enjoyed the food.
Service was quick and efficient. Great value for your moneys. If there is a suggestion that I would make is to provide hand sanitizer. Other than that it’s a good experience.
A lot of reviews dinged the service. I found it to be somewhat unfair. The lady has limited English and was never unpleasant. Yes she didn’t come round every 60 seconds to ask if everything is okay, but we’re expected to fetch our own food. We have no difficulty with her asking to add extra hotpot broth. My friend was more out going and started a pointing and body language to clarify which things go on grill and she spent two minutes pointing and body language explaining. So I think service is acceptable as long as you knew it’s not Olive garden. My only criticism was that she has difficulty processing my friend’s credit card and we ended up paying cash
Of the spread the meats and protein are of course mainly average quality or previously frozen. The vegetables are all fresh. But all are well kept at correct temperature. The spread has much bigger variety than I expected, including razor clams. This makes it fantastic value.
The sauces available has every permutations you can ask, and you can mix your own custom creations to your heart’s content. The only omission I desire is sesame paste/tahini. The purist in me went for soy sauce and sesame oil with a dash of chilli.
The cooked food section looked great but turned out average to above average, not that different from the average Chinese buffet. The fried noodles and shrimp fried rice are okay. The highlight is the braised pork neck bone, which was excellent. Honorable mention the papaya salad.
My main beef was the heating power of the grill is too low. It took much longer to get colour except the thinnest cut. The hotpot induction plate was acceptable. It took about five minutes from when we are seated to come to a full boil. Meantime we sort ourselves out and get a bit of cooked food and there’s no waiting. The deal is big hotpot small grill, not equal. I do appreciate the two compartment hotpot, one spicy/sour one clear broth for variety.
Overall very good value with many rare stuff and recommended. I’ll return for the exotic experience and items not available elsewhere. It’s enjoyable if expectations are adjusted.
Loved the hotpot, loved the bbq, all the staff is friendly, the place is clean, staff also checks in to the table often to care for us. No complaints, can’t wait to come back.
