The concept is great, along with the focus on a limited menu. Unfortunately, the dishes missed the mark on seasoning – the sapasui was overly salty and the protein (chicken) was tasty and wonderfully cooked, but not the correct ratio for the rice noodles. A little more protein and not overdoing it on seasoning would be my suggestion.

If you don’t visit this place, you’re missing out. Our family has been to Hawaii several times and we’ve had Hawaiian food. The staff are extremely friendly and kind. The portions are generous and the food is flavorful. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could.

Love that we have a place like this in the area! The house food and tap has a really cool concept. You have four different places to order food from. They have a pizza place, a burger place, a coffee place and my personal favorite a Hawaiian grill! Esera from the Hawaiian grill is awesome! My son is very picky but he loves spam and rice. Although this wasn’t on the menu, Esera was able to cook up my son’s favorite! I’m sure this isn’t an every time thing but the fact Esera was able to do this for my son meant a lot to me. I personally ordered the pineapple BBQ chicken plate with white rice and macaroni salad. The best way to order it imo. Although I’m not from Hawaii the food had a very comforting and homeyness to it that made for a very enjoyable meal. It’s one thing when the food is great it’s a huge plus when the service is top notch as well. Thank you Esera for the delicious meals my family will for sure be visiting often!

My wife and I tried 98 Hawaiian Grill today and the food was incredible! We ordered a mixed plate lunch, a Sapasui and a Spam musubi. The flavors were amazing, the portions generous, and the employees were very friendly. We got to chat briefly with Mr. Tuaolo and he was really nice as well. We will definitely return!

Absolutely amazing. The spam musubi is great!! I walk there in between classes at st bens to get food from here. The owners super sweet. This is my first time writing a review. Really speaks to how great his food is!! Every time my dad visits me he asks me to go here. Great place with great people!
