87 Sussex is more than just a restaurant; it’s a full-on culinary dimension. From the moment you walk through the door, you are transported into a beautifully designed space that sets the stage for an unforgettable experience.
As someone who has worked front-of-house for years, I was blown away by the service. Amanda greeted us with such warmth and was incredibly attentive to our reservation notes. My best friend and I were celebrating a belated birthday, and the specially printed ‘Happy Birthday’ menus were such a thoughtful, high-end touch.
The mixology here is world-class. The Inferno Jam cocktail was a masterpiece—a smoky, sweet, and tart multi-sensory experience that I’ve never seen executed better. That level of detail carried over into every dish. The Ox & Egg and the Escargot Wontons were incredible, featuring textures and flavors that literally evolve as you eat them. For the entree, our server suggested the Osso Buco, which featured some of the best Al Dente pasta I’ve ever had and perfectly tender meat. We finished with the Chocolate Turtle Cake, which was a roller coaster of moist cake, crunchy toasted walnuts, and sweet toffee.
A massive thank you to our server, Hazem. He was the rockstar of the evening—clearly very experienced, friendly, and never left us hanging. He made us feel so welcome for our first visit. If you have a special occasion coming up, do yourself a favor and dine here. It is truly in a league of its own.

Had an awesome experience at 87 Sussex. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully prepared. Service was excellent—warm, professional, and on point all night. The live music was the highlight: talented performers and a great atmosphere that made the evening feel special. Definitely coming back.

Have been here twice now, and had a fantastic experience both times. Did not have one bad bite, and our servers were so fun and friendly, giving us excellent recommendations.
The food is also presented so beautifully, you’re going to want to take a picture of it before you eat it!

WOW! I cannot give enough starts for this dining experience- the atmosphere was relaxed, the service was top notch, and Chef Brian served up many extraordinary dishes. The menu was personalized for our special birthday celebration. Our first dish were bites of tomato w shredded feta cheese that just melted in the mouth- mellow and slightly salty. Next is the thousand layer potato w caviar- again- WOW! Followed by quail egg ravioli, and escargot wontons. I never had escargot and was a little nervous to try but I’m so glad I did! We had the crab cake and short ribs for our entrees- they did not disappoint and a bonus- a golden baked potato! And for dessert- chocolate turtle cake. The cake was light and flavorful. The whole experience was magic! Make your reservation now- the place fills up quickly.

Came here for restaurant week. I had to ask for the special menu, it wasn’t given to me, but that could have been because the hostess seemed very young and pretty check out.
Other than that, the food was tasty and the pricing was very fair for the quality of the food.
We got the short rib, bass, escargot wontons (very interesting flavor experience), ravioli, and two desserts (forgettable and not worth it). The short rib was excellent, there was a lot of flavor in the sauce and the potatoes. The long beans were chewy, but in a good textured way. The sea bass was fine, subtle in flavor, it needed a little more salt and fat in the fish.
It was a very pretty restaurant. I think they could use a bit more sound proofing to make cozy. I really liked it though and I would definitely go back.

Treated to a night out at our first time trying this spot that’s walking distance from our building. Wow oh wow did we love 87 Sussex! The service was phenomenal, drink recommendations and guidance on what to order. So friendly and just raised the experience from a really nice meal to a really fun and memorable experience. Short rib was one of the best dishes I’ve had out in a long time. Top of the menu for a reason. Sally’s halibut dish was full of flavor and we were enchanted by the zucchini noodles. Desert turtle cake knocked our socks off. Can’t wait to come back to this gorgeous spot for another great meal!!

I really enjoyed the food and service! The dishes were delicious, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully plated. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. However, I feel that the interior design and decor could be improved, as it lacks intimacy and elegance. While the food is truly world-class, the ambiance feels secondary in comparison.
