Large variety of desserts and breads at a great price! As with any bakery, the earlier you go in, the better the selection will be. They also offer coffee shop style drinks.

Found this place after my first trip to Taiwan where i first had their pastry and definitely my favorite in San Diego. Fresh baked always and fresh bread as well. If there is something you like from before asked them as it may be fresh on the rack behind the counter especially in the morning. The matcha buns are the best and only $2.10.

Best tasting coffee in town! I love their coffee. It’s smooth and fresh. The pastries—including the cakes—are fresh and delicious without being overly sweet. The prices are very affordable, and the environment is modern, clean, and welcoming. It’s a great spot to relax and enjoy a quality coffee and treat.

I love 85° C, been going to this location and the one near clairmont for years. My ultimate favorites are the milk pudding bun and tiramisu and tiramisu cheesecake. My favorite savory is tied between the pork sung bun and the bacon and cheese bread. My heavy hitting sweet treat contenders are the white chocolate strawberry roll, the taro roll, and the Ube bread. I’m drooling just thinking about them all. My only “negative” review is everything mango is sadly only barely mango. They are nice if you’re only looking for slightly sweet/mango flavor but I love flavor with a punch. To be fair, its good, it just doesn’t punch. All items have a gorgeous presentation and reasonably priced. I highly recommend a visit. My cousin and I walked out with about 20-25 items and spent about $70 total with the most “expensive” items being the 4 tiramisu slices, the 4 chocolate dipped strawberries, and the chocolate cherry pudding or mousse cup thing all being about 1/3 of the total cost. Most items were under $3. These are not small pastries or desserts.

I went there yesterday afternoon to get my favorite drink. I always get the red grapefruit green tea and it always comes out reddish orange like the color of grapefruit. Whoever makes their drink or this drink needs to be retrained or reassigned to some other sections. As you can see in the picture, its only green tea barely any grapefruit syrup on it. I didn’t even ask for a less sugar. They probably also added water on it because its the lightest grapefruit drink. It darker on the bottom part because of my hand. The cost co green tea is much darker than this.

It’s been a little over 20 years now since their first shop opened up in Irvine, California. Although I don’t mind the 8 mile drive to National City (closest location to my home), I would think by now a location would be set up down south, somewhere closer to the border.
The family and I love 85C Bakery Cafe primarily for their fresh, soft home baked, delicious pastries! We’ve bought cakes at their National City location before, but their pastries have been our favorite treats in the shop. Tops.
I always look forward to walking inside 85C Bakery. My eyes, are all wide open, walking through the shop, looking up and down each shelf. Staring at all the pastries displayed – I want them all. I feel like a little girl at a candy shop.
Unfortunately, I had my daughter run in a buy whatever looked good plus the usual pastries that we’re accustomed to getting. Had I gone inside and shopped with her, we would have been on sweets overload.
By the way, there’s always a line at the register. Whether short or long, all cashiers are ready to ring you up. That’s a big plus. Unless there’s a complicated customer, rest assure, the lines do move.
85C Bakery Cafe on Fat Tuesday…why not !?

Went on a weekday evening and the store was packed and barely any bread & pastries left to buy. So I recommend going early.
Bathrooms are dirty, tables were a mess, barely enough chairs for the tables.
The drinks were okay. We had a few slices of cake and they werent even cold, they were lukewarm. Was the glass cake with pastries even turned on? its a health hazard, as the it needs be refrigerated at all times.
Overall I think the bakery was understaffed considering the amount of customers visiting there. Only 2 people working is not enough. If they had more people working at a busy store, the overall condition would be better…

I don’t want to give a bad review bc I just want to say this so the cafe can learn not to be in trouble or anything. I made a DoorDash pickup order so I wouldn’t have to stand in line (I have health issues that make it hard for me to stand for long periods of time). I went in after sitting in my car for a while but it was hard to figure out the process of what I should do. I tried to approach the pick up spot but everyone was busy, and I didn’t want to make them feel rushed. There were a couple of done drinks but they were behind a receipt printer so I assumed it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to reach over and pick them up to look at the name. There were only a couple of chairs and I knew I couldn’t go outside because I wouldn’t know when they called my drink. One nice girl did ask me what I needed, I gave her my name and she said it’ll be ready soon. I tried to lean against the wall as my legs were starting to hurt. DoorDash only gave me a name not a number, so I’m listening for that. I see a few drinks piling up but I don’t want to bother them. There’s one I think may be mine but they called a number I didn’t recognize. Eventually I approached again and the girl realized one of the drinks was actually mine and apologized. Please instruct the workers that make and call out the drinks that PICKUP orders do not know the order number. We have no way of accessing what number your system gave our order. We only know the name. If you don’t call it out we will not know it’s our order, and ofc we don’t want to ask “is that mine?” Every time you call out a number

Bought 4 cakes for a Christmas party as I’ve heard good things from co-workers, when I went to pick them up I was ignored and when I was finally helped after 20 minutes they were rude and dismissive. I was not impressed by the store at all the floors were dirty and cracked, no festive decor nor any decor at at all, the counter behind the workers looked messy and the bathroom was dirty. Lastly, the cakes were just not good! The Strawberry cake had NO flavor whatsoever just sponge and cream, the Black Forest cake also was heavily creamed with minimal flavor, the Chocolate Mousse cake was also flavor less and boring, at least the Tiramisu Cheesecake was not bad but overall very underwhelming and disappointing guess I’ll try another place next year
