On New Year’s Day, I visited 8 Ounce Korean Steakhouse for the first time. The quality of the different meat cuts was outstanding. Although the side dishes were small, you could request additional servings from the server if necessary. Every dish and meat item was delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive, assisting us with cooking the meat and vegetables right at the table. The smoke ventilation system was effective, so our clothes didn’t absorb any BBQ smoke odor.

Brought the family here for my birthday. We ordered the D Combo (feeds 4 but fed 5 of us with left overs) which came with Beef Belly, Pork Jowl, Seasoned Boneless Short Rib and Grilled Pork Bulgogi. Everything was divine and the whole family enjoyed everything. I highly recommend coming just for the experience. The Soybean Stew was probably my favorite side dish and would order it just alone to go for a nice warm soup at home.

Our favorite Koren BBQ spot in Houston. Its a 25 min drive for us. Worth it everytime. Love the kimchi fried rice, all the side dishes…. dont get me started on the meat. The owner is always there and he’s shared with me that he sources the best quality he can find in our market for his reasturant. Owner does not play about quality here! Cant wait to tey their Vegas location.

What a culinary experience! Whether or not you’re familiar with the Korean BBQ menu, the helpful service makes you feel like royalty, as they prepare the multiple dishes for you and explain them knowledgeably. All the meats are delicious but I will be returning to indulge in the galbi (ribs). Actual “meat candy” for the meat-lovers! And all of this in an intimate atmosphere, with modern, sleek design. The management and waiters are top-notch! This is a luxury I was surprised to find in Katy, Texas and I’m so thrilled that it’s here to stay. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions & dinner parties.

1 Star – Disrespectful & Misleading Experience
We had a very disappointing experience at 8 Ounce
KBBQ. The server recommended the A5 wagyu but never mentioned the price or that it was market price. We trusted the recommendation, and our bill ended up being $350, with $250 for the wagyu alone. Take not that we couldn’t even eat half the wagyu because it was too much fat. We were genuinely confused and asked for clarification.
Instead of handling it professionally, the staff became dismissive and defensive, saying that’s “not what the waitress said happened.” The manager (who claimed he was the owner) was rude and offered no attempt to resolve the situation. As we were leaving, he shooed us away and said
“whatever, whatever, losers” in front of other guests.
It wasn’t about the cost — it was about the lack of transparency and the way we were treated.
Completely unprofessional and disappointing.

Absolutely loved our dining experience at 8 Ounce Steak Korean BBQ!
From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect — the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. One of the highlights for me was that the staff grilled the meat for us at the table and even showed us how to enjoy it properly, which was super helpful since it was our first time here.
We ordered Combo C for 4 people, and honestly, every cut of meat was well-marinated, flavorful, and juicy — just how I like it! The side dishes were fresh and tasty, and everything came together beautifully.
The restaurant has a nice, comfortable vibe — clean, modern, and cozy enough to enjoy a relaxed meal with friends or family.
I’ll definitely be coming back with my family to try more dishes. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great Korean BBQ and great service!

Lacks training. Cooked the beef belly first and put it to the side and proceeded to cook the other raw meats on the same grill. That is not ok. The other lady asked us if everything was ok and explained to her that the “cook” put the marinated raw meat in the middle and the “cooked meats” on the side. She told us that it was ok to eat the cooked meats because it was on the side. Also, as she was flipping, the rawwwwww juices were splashing everywhere.
