7800 Bar & Grill is exactly the kind of place you hope to find in a local spot. The fireplace creates an awesome cozy atmosphere, especially on colder nights, and the whole place has that relaxed, authentic local vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. The food is seriously impressive—everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. On top of that, $4 beers are hard to beat anywhere these days. But what really makes the place stand out is the staff: friendly, welcoming, and genuinely great people. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, and great service—7800 absolutely nails it.

The only restaurant in Kirkwood not owned by Vail resorts. Cool ski town vibe, cheap beer on tap, and awesome food. Try the chili cheese fries (not on the menu but they’ll make it for you), or the nachos (enough for 4 people).

1. Cheapest draft beer that can be purchased at a ski resort, on planet earth AFAIK ($4)
2. Wood fireplace
3. Good food
4. Even better vibes
5. They sell cigs
6. Kelsey is a 12/10 bartender

The existence of the 7800 flies in the face of Vail resorts’ dominance. This place is still real. DEFINITELY stop in

We were super excited to support a business that wasn’t Vail owned but it was a big miss. First, it’s freezing. Not only not heated but they have a door open. Servers are rude. One of the meals clearly got forgotten and they acted annoyed that we asked about it. The Irish coffee was cold. Generally disappointing I hope it was just an off day bc I would really like to support a private business. I’d give it just 1 or 2 stars but that seems like it’s too harmful to the business.

We had an amazing time. Ski in. Drink a couple of beers, have a nice lunch, enjoy the fire place meet some locals, rest up, get back at it. An amazing option with great prices.

Friendly service, but disappointing food. Half of what we ordered was burnt. Our group disliked the burger, cheesesteak, and chicken sandwich. The pretzel and chicken tenders were decent. Expensive, as expected for the remote location.

Passing through and wanted some food. This little village had some options for lunch. We stopped by and had a great meal next to the fireplace. It really hit the spot

The only restaurant in the Kirkwood not owned by Vail. Very local feel. Prices are high but on par with other resort restaurants. Didn’t have high expectations but the food was really good. The 7800 burger was pretty good. The chili cheese fries were good. The star of the show was definitely the pretzels with beer cheese. Might be the best pretzel I’ve ever had.

It is chilly in there so layer up when you go. You can also warm up by the big fireplace they have in the middle.

Just to know, they close down the kitchen at 8pm. They have live music Fridays and Saturday nights. Those nights the bar is open until midnight.

The Bomb Dog is great! Awesome and only non-vail owned restaurant on the mountain. Always worth a stop by

Best place to get food and a beer at Kirkwood. Food and drinks are better and cheaper than the Vail/epic prices elsewhere
