One of the few spots in SF that nails “sup chow aw hor” (beef chow fun with gravy). The portion is generous — easily feeds two or makes for a solid lunch with leftovers. At $19.95, the price is actually pretty reasonable, especially for the FiDi. Flavor, portion, and value all hit the mark.

Good, hot, fresh food but expensive a la carte items. Fried rice is $20 for a mediocre size during lunch time with no lunch special option. Lunch specials are average price for the area.

We happened to come across this restaurant while looking for a place for lunch near our hotel in Embarcadero. The one we were going to was closed so we started wandering around the financial district. Saw the sign & decided Chinese food sounded good. It’s a small, no frills place either limited seating but since it was a little past lunch rush, there was only one table occupied. We were vegetarian for the day so I decided to try the lunch special which was spicy basil tofu with rice and my husband ordered the kung pao tofu. Both the dishes were so good! We polished off the good sized portions. So glad we discovered this little gem in the financial district.

There is an unspoken culinary rule: the smaller the restaurant, the larger the portions. And it definitely holds true here.

This is a small and simple Asian restaurant, serving, as the name implies, Chinese and Vietnamese food. There’s both tables and window-facing tall chairs, and the place can get surprisingly busy for lunch.

I tried the spicy beef Pho, and it was a solid choice. Nice presentation, fresh vegetables, textbook Pho. I was slightly surprised by the portion size: thankfully I hadn’t had breakfast, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to finish it in one sitting!

Prices are alright, especially for the location by the financial district. Solid lunch choice.

Mongolian Beef was great:. Tender no-gristle beef chunks, bell peppers and onions in a mildly spicy, gingery Mongolian sauce. Came with rice. I’d definitely order again. Yum!!

Original review from 2019:

Wor won ton soup: $12.50, Solid overall. Pros: unexpected nice piece of fish, huge amt of won tons (couldn’t finish or count them all), great lunch value. Cons: broth was a tad sweet for me (but I’m probably more sensitive than you), won ton filling was kinda gristly and I liked them more savory).

Staff really friendly, food arrived quickly, bring your coat if you’re eating there on a cold day

This restaurant is one of the few Asian restaurants in the financial district that is legit. They have counter seating and also small wooden chairs and tables, the cashier was nice and the food came out quickly. I ordered the Hanoi pho with beef and meatball, it was good although I wasn’t use to the mild sesame flavor in a pho broth. The meat was nice and tender, easily breakable with the wooden dispensable chopsticks. I’ll definitely be back to try other items.

I usually like Siracha with my pho, but this bowl was just too authentic and delicious for anything else. The only drawback is the utensils – they are flimsy and easily broken. I highly recommend this place – do yourself and favor and check it out at least once!

I’ve been looking for a real good chinese restaurant in SF for a while know, guess i finally found it! Food at this place tastes super good(don’t know if its the MSG they add to their food, lol) for $11 you get two sides plus steam or fried rice(no charge extra) I asked just to be sure. The only complain i have is that they should have english speaking workers because the asian girl serving me didn’t have a clue what i was asking her, her boss had to come over to help out. Plenty of space to eat or you could take your food to go. Highly recommended this place if your in the financial district of SF, if your driving to this place you’ll have a hard time parking there’s mostly only yellow meters around this restaurant if i were you i would take public transportation.
