The service was amazing. There were two cashiers, Sheila B. and Sharon. They worked together and brought the line down pretty quickly. I was on the line for the register of Sheila B. We ordered some tacos. She was fast, accurate, and patient with us. I think 2 tacos with everything for $9 is pretty cheap. The food was hot and fresh. The area was clean as well as the tables and chairs.
The name of this restaurant is called Seven On State. It is located on the 7th floor of the Macy store located 111 North State Street Chicago, IL 60602. If you’re shopping at Macy’s, don’t forget to stop by for a quick lunch.

There’s only 3 vendors here, each with a good round of options to choose from. Given Macy’s is a department store, I wasn’t expecting a full-decked food court like in other malls, and that’s fine. Just about anything here will get you by just fine.
Sometimes I go here for lunch on my work break since I work in the building. Wait times are nice and snappy, and you get free refills if you get a fountain drink.
I’ve ordered the Chicago Dog, chicken tenders, Nashville chicken sandwich, and the cheeseburger a few times from here, each served with a handful of fries. The longest I’ve had to wait for an order is when I get the cheeseburger, which of course varies by how you like it done. They’re all tasty and filling- I don’t think you can go wrong with any order.

Hit up 7 on State on the 7th floor of Macy’s—grabbed Frontera’s chicken torta and a flat grilled steak salad from the chef stations, spent about $22. Food was legit—torta had a great kick and the steak salad was hella fresh. Sleek spot with big windows and chill vibes. Quick service, friendly staff, perfect refuel after shopping downtown. Will def be back!

Tried the taco stand and the food was awful. Seven on State is a shell of what it used to be. Macy’s has gotten rid of all of their decent dining options.

Terrible hours of operation, and the hours are inconsistent. One day they close at 5, and then out of no where they close at 3. They are only open for 3 hours most time which is Ridiculous. If they can’t provide normal business hours, they shouldn’t be open at all

Sure this place isn’t what it used to be but I still think it’s really slept on – there are still 3 solid places here to eat!
If you’re out on state street before 2pm shopping it’s a good place to go. I like the taco spot – the green bowls are $12ish including tax and really substantial.

This is a little gem in Macy’s. 7th for in the food court. This section has meals that are all 7 dollars. Plus they are good and good portions. The potato salad had potatoes that weren’t cooked all the way and it was kind of runny. Not my favorite but…. The protein bowl, the pulled pork sandwiche and chicken sandwiches are very good. Oh, and with your recipe 1 dollar scoop of ice-cream. The cookies are really good, too.

Love the salad bar, the steak and goat cheese salads are my favorite. Took away one star because the lines for the salad bar and Fresco Frontera Grill are always ridiculously long. Try coming on a holiday weekend for shorter lines.

It’s a great place e to eat but one change needs to happen. Please extend your hours to at least 5pm and please open on weekends. A lot of people are hungry and there is no dining options on state street except this one.
