This place is a refreshing taste of England embedded in Falls Church. It’s easy to drive by on 50 and miss it (which I did many times) because you won’t see it from there, but is visible from rte 7 right near the intersection to 50.
It’s not a chain (thank God) and the owner/chef takes pride in his product. The food is all great, meeting British standards for Fish/Chips and Shepherds pie, among other classic dishes from across the pond. The Lamb Shank is to die for.
The beer selection is great, with about a dozen drafts from all over the world, including the Public House 7 draft. I tried several!
The downstairs server Doug was very attentive and helpful (recommended the lamb and beer :), and that section is quiet, but there’s also an upstairs pub section with lots of tv’s and a decent sized bar. Every soccer game is available!
They have a heated patio for smoking out back but it still wasn’t warm enough for me. I imagine that’s a great swilling spot for spring and summer. I plan to visit once a week until I try everything on the menu.
Two thumbs up!

Cool atmosphere and could not be easier to get to from any direction. The beer selection was very good. I have to recommend the lamb stew hot pot for dinner. So savory and warm. The place is laid out so there is a restaurant section in the front and pub in the back. The service was friendly but closer to a bar style than restaurant niceties.

Good local bar, good canned beer selection, okay draft selection. I think it’s under new management – the food was much better than before. Live music and good crowd for Capital’s/local sports games. Decent amount of TVs around, there’s even one outside by the fire pit!

Cool little local bar. I would say it shares borders between being a pub and a dive bar. The food is a solid 3.5 stars. The prices are reasonable. The outside seating area with fireplace is definitely an important asset. With permission from the manager, they sometimes allow pets within the outside seating area. The inside has multiple TVs for watching sports.

The food is great. I had a steak that was cooked perfectly rare. The service was prompt and friendly without being overbearing. I stayed after for a live performance and the sound was great and at a reasonable volume. I really enjoyed the menu and beer selection, the atmosphere, and the overall experience. I recommend this place.

Love the pub. It’s changed hands since it was a British pub. The new owners have expanded the menu and added a pizza oven. i do miss some of the british dishes. The outdoor patios (front and back) are great when the weather is nice, and the back patio has a fireplace for when the temperature is a bit tepid

This place is great. I used to come here way back when it was Brinkley’s and it’s gone nothing but uphill since. The new owners are great, the food is delicious. It has an upstairs bar area where they have love music sometimes. It had a downstairs area without the bar for family eating or meetings. I’ve done both here since the latest management shift and they are very accomodating. Great place!

First I should state that Google Maps will not allow for corrections in how an establishment changes. This is NOT a British themed pub anymore! It has been through two ownership changes since then. It is now a dive bar.

With that said, it is not a bad dive bar, the food is not bad, the beers are domestic, and the prices are low. Currently under renovation.

How nice to find a small town pub in the middle of a busy city! Great place to hang out on a Friday night with old friends and even better when you make new ones. They have updated their menu and the food was outstanding.

The place is under renovations, but they have a makeshift bar set up at the front door. They still have an operational kitchen, but it seemed only partially functional as they were out of a lot of things and a simple order of onion rings took 45 minutes to make! I don’t hold their renovation situation against them, but if you are looking for a comfortable place to have a drink and order a meal, then you might want to wait until the renos are complete.
