Social Profile:

Soft opening. Local favorite. Iconic intersection of Broadway and Columbus. The iconic/historic site of the “Jazz Mural” and “Language of the Birds”. The Owyang family owned and operated New Sun Hong Kong (NSHK) since 1989. We closed our doors during the pandemic, which unexpectedly put my my parents in retirement. As we explored options, it was clear that this was the perfect opportunity to pass the baton to the next generation. With a new name and new approach, we’re hoping to bring back fan favorites while introducing new dishes, and help demystify Chinese food through our lens. Please join us as we play an active role in reconnecting the neighborhood, and help revitalize San Francisco and Chinatown!

Really delicious Chinese food. No wait for a late lunch on a beautiful sunny November day in the City. Their chili garlic?sauce is excellent and made in house. We had the house special Simon’s chicken, String beans, Mongolian Beef and Chicken Fried Rice.
I had the iced HK coffee milk tea- very nice and not sweet (as I like it) and has 2 shots of espresso as the coffee in it.

Perfect place for a date
We ordered crispy golden noodles, Simon’s garlic chicken and fried tofu – dishes are huge, one main dish and some side are more than enough for two to share.
Definitely will come back for Simon’s chicken
Cider was also good. If you like different flavors – must try

First meal in SF Chinatown and it was amazing. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and the service was fast, and the owner (Eugene) even came out to serve us and make sure the food was served in time. This place has amazing hospitality, highly recommend checking out this place. You have to get Simon’s Garlic Chicken!

I passed by 1 million times and never really went in there
And finally decided to give it a go
Their milk tea was really good . Very authentic and I think it even has a bottle option so you can bring it around.
Their tofu was pretty good. Very tender and crispy.
On the day that we went there wasn’t in line, but it took us like about 30 minutes before our meal comes out .
The environment was very chill. It’s very good for talking. And it’s pretty full during dinner hour. which in the case, they are pretty good.

We’ve been eating at this restaurant since its soft opening. The food is delicious, and ingredients are fresh. Alvin and Eugene treat us well each time we come to dine-in or order take-out. On our most recent visit, we ordered the pot stickers, garlic noodles, beef chow fun, and salt & pepper fish. Very tasty! We consider 606 Restaurant to be one of our go-to destinations.

I came to San Francisco from Boston. This was our first time visiting San Francisco and several people recommended 606 and they were right. There were a lot of locals inside eating there so we knew that was a great sign. The food was delicious and the people were great. I can’t wait to come back. This is such a beautiful city.

My god, the salt and pepper tofu with string bean is delicious. Pretty decent onion pancake too. $35 for both and a small white rice TO GO because there was zero parking around… this food sure satisfied my craving! Not all places can get the tofu texture right, theirs was deliciously crispy

All the food was so great. Had high expectations going in since all the reviews were near perfect. I think I actually had the best Chinese food in the whole US. The salt and pepper fish was a bit too salty but I inhaled everything else. Definitely try their house special fried rice.
