The coolest cafe I’ve ever been to. So unique and artsy, while also actually having delicious food and coffee. I could drink the iced cinnamon roll latte every day. My husband finished his hot pistachio latte in just a couple minutes. Seriously so good!! We also each got a breakfast burrito when we definitely could have shared. We want to explore the other cafes in town, but 5th and Jefferson has set a high standard!!

We ate lunch here, outdoors on the quaint patio surrounded by blooming gardens.
This place is like something from a Hallmark movie, with a storybook setting. It’s now one of my favorite places -anywhere-. We had sweets and coffee drinks too, all was great.
I will dream about it in winter, until I can visit again in summer.

If you’re looking for a quality meal at a cozy and cute cafe then make this your next destination! The food was excellent and the drinks were very well made. We got The Signature burrito and the house salad with soup as well as a couple lattes. We loved the atmosphere both outside and inside this house turned cafe – even the bathroom is cute with a flamingo bubble bath to keep you company.

I’m very sad that my favorite coffee shop in Door County, that I recommend and rave to everyone about, will now be somewhere I no longer talk highly of. I usually just get my coffee to go and have always had great service prior to today. Seriously, this is/was my favorite coffee shop! Sadly, we were just treated so rudely by the Manager there, that I will never be back. Maybe it was partially my fault that I didn’t realize that they aren’t a kid friendly facility, but either way, we should not have been treated the way we were. I understand that kids can be a lot, but we tried to stay secluded in one room. The table was tippy so we contemplated moving to a different room but decided not to so that we didn’t bother others with our children. It wasn’t like we were being inconsiderate or anything. I figured the blonde that treated us so poorly was just bad help, but was completely shocked when we found out she was the manager!
We were having a great time, the kids LOVED the hot chocolate flights and we were sharing photos and talking it up, until we realized how quick a wonderful holiday season experience could turn bad. Now, onto trying to find a new coffee shop that makes their drinks as good as 5th and J!

Cute little place. Love how they turned a house into a coffee shop. Very unique and cozy. The breakfast burritos are good. Our coffee was just okay. Maybe I didn’t order their known for item. But, if I lived in the area I could see myself stopping here to do homework or do computer work.

First time visit, ordered the bacon Belgian waffle. #1 compliment, is that this little waffle was so over loaded with sugar that I couldn’t finish it, it upset my stomach. It should be part of the description on the menu that it’s a sugar waffle (more like a doughnut waffle), very disappointing. #2 complaint is that this is not a Belgian waffle, it’s a mini waffle, there’s a big difference. Service was fine and coffee was ok. Decor was pretty cool, unfortunately not cool enough for a second visit.

Everyone was so friendly when we came in and the service was great. It is a very cute shop with lots of seating inside and outside. The coffee on the other hand, was not very good. All I could taste was syrup.

A nice coffee shop with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Burrito was tasty.

There was a review posted a couple days ago making all kinds of accusations about 5&J not being kid-friendly and the manager not being friendly toward children. As a doting grandfather who for the past 5 years regularly brings his 6 year-old grandchild to 5&J, let me assure folks that the manager and staff at 5&J are wonderful with kids. The manager even keeps a special brand of ‘sprinkles’ on hand for my granddaughter’s favorite hot cocoa.
Because of the quality of food, service and atmosphere at 5&J, things can get pretty hectic during rush hour. Throughout it all the staff works hard and is responsive. I’ve often said to them I really don’t know how they do it and that if I were working there I’d be sitting in a corner crying!
Now one thing for parents and grandparents to keep in mind, it is in an older home (1910) with crowded areas and staff are often carrying plates of food and mugs of hot coffee through what can be a very busy setting and kids running about could cause staff or customers to trip and drop hot food on others. As in all public settings, it is the responsibility of caregivers to monitor and — when needed — rein in some of that bubbling child energy and mayhem. Ultimately, that is who is responsible.
Don’t hesitate to take you kids to 5&J. The hot cocoa, sprinkles and staff are wonderful.
