I NEVER leave reviews, EVER, but this was hands down the best meal of my life. I’ve lived in Mexico and DR. I’ve traveled to Brazil and Ireland. I’ve eaten in plenty of fine dining restaurants. I don’t care that the bathrooms have never been cleaned. This was homemade food made by real people who aren’t cooking to appeal to clientele. They’re making what they eat and they’re selling it to the public – if you don’t like it that’s ok cuz they do! ( At least that’s my take.)

It was the best blend and balance of flavors I’ve ever, EVER encountered. They weren’t overwhelming or overpowering but they did explode in your mouth!! The paratha is no joke – might sound silly but I almost cried as I ate it. There was so much care and attention, it tasted like comfort.

I was very disappointed with the condition of the restrooms during my visit. The floors were littered with debris, and there was a strong odor of mildew. Additionally, the restroom lacked soap and paper towels, and one of the hand dryers was broken. The overall experience was unpleasant and made me less likely to return.”

If you’re craving real Indian comfort food, 5911 Dhaba is a hidden gem that absolutely delivers. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere might read more like a trucker pit stop — and that’s part of its charm — but the food instantly transports you back to the flavors of home.
Their parathas are hands-down exceptional — perfectly cooked, fluffy, and served with rich homemade butter and fresh curd that simply elevate every bite. It’s the kind of food that reminds you of roadside dhabas back in India, where every dish tastes like it was made with heart.
What also stands out is how clean and welcoming the place feels. Despite being a popular stop for travelers, the dining area is well kept, and the owner is incredibly nice and soft-spoken, always making sure you feel at ease.

Overall, if you’re passing through or just looking for authentic Indian dhaba-style cuisine with memorable parathas and warm hospitality, 5911 Dhaba is absolutely worth a stop!

The parking lot is unpaved and crowded. The food was not the best I’ve had and I’ve had a lot of Indians I love Indian food. The food portion was very small and very expensive. Otherwise it could be a very laid-back environment you can take your 30.

This place has THE BEST food in the area. It is authentic and delicious Indian food made by people to care about what they’re doing and who truly strive to serve quality food. We eat here at least once a week, and often even more. We ask them to surprise us with something new often, and we’ve never tasted something we didn’t love!

5911 Dhaba is one of the most truck‑driver‑friendly restaurants in the area. The large free parking lot makes it easy for semis to park without stress. They offer 24/7 access to restrooms, and the restaurant stays open around the clock. Excellent Indian cuisine, clean environment, and respectful service. Highly recommended for anyone on the road.

I stopped here to buy tea, and the owner told me that if the total is under $10, I must pay in cash, but if it’s over $10, I have to use a card. I found this policy confusing and unprofessional. If I had read reviews about this before going, I would not have gone. There is also no sign posted informing customers that cards are not accepted for purchases under $10. I’m sharing this so other customers are aware before ordering. Businesses should follow clear and transparent payment practices.

This is an interesting place, a hidden gem. It doesn’t look like anything from outside, barely even a truck stop. But the food is delicious and the shelves are lined with Punjabi grocery staples. I talked to the young man working there and gathered that the customers are mostly long-haul truck drivers from India who stop in for a shower and a familiar meal. There’s even a familiar Punjabi style “table” – don’t know the real term for it.

The food was delicious, and I’d guess it’s the most authentic Indian/Punjabi food in Missouri. Not your typical Americanized Indian food; not a buffet. Just really good food.
