The service was incredible! We had Luke, he did an amazing job. He was very attentive and friendly. The oysters on the half shell tasted very fresh and the oysters Rockefeller was delicious. Some of the best oysters I’ve had! The tuna poke nachos were very tasty, everything on them went really well together. The yum yum tuna was also very good, the sauce was tangy and the tuna had good flavor. The crawfish Mac & Cheese is some of the best Mac & Cheese I’ve had, very creamy and flavorful. The ambience was also nice, it was clean and had a very relaxing vibe. We will definitely be back to try more tasty food!

First time to try Hometown Seafood Company, while it may not be for everyone they do have some dishes that are worth a stop.

The Special off menu Boil was by far our favorite and best of everything we ordered. The seafood had a great freshness and flavor through and through.

Next in line would be the Drunken Shrimp as our favorite starter. It had a great sweetness to the flavor.

The rest were misses for us, out of everything ordered.
The 50/50 items were the Egg rolls and Elote fries. These could go either way as a favorite or not.

Service was ok, not overwhelming slow, but did forget to place our order for a plate. So we had to wait for it to be prepared after the rest.

Price for what you get, high. 3 people was $150.00 w tip on our visit.

Would I recommend?
No, there’s better options.

Was there something we missed:
We’d like to know your favorites?
How was your experience?

Until next time.

This was our first time dining here, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The oysters on the half shell tasted fresh and were very enjoyable. However, I have a small suggestion: the individually wrapped crackers should be served in a separate basket. Placing them directly on top of the oysters can be a sanitation concern—especially if unused crackers are reused from previous plates.

The blue cheese wedge salad was decent. It was my first time seeing it served with oyster crackers, which was a bit unusual. It also had a heavy amount of nuts that overwhelmed the flavor a bit.

The catfish was tasty, though the batter was slightly too thick for my preference. On the side, the fries and hush puppies were both well done and satisfying. (Another suggestion: ask if customers want condiments, it would be wasted expense for restaurants to toss what’s not used.)

I tried the piña colada—it was flavorful, but a bit too strong for my taste.

Our server, Lucas, was excellent—attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better.

Manager was our server. Service was excellent! Drunken shrimp was good but the toast wasn’t crispy. Boudin egg rolls were delicious! Seafood Gumbo was too salty with tiny shrimp and sausage had no other seafood in it other than shrimp. They need a new gumbo recipe. Seafood bisque tasted like cheese soup with no seafood flavor. Puffy shrimp tacos were soggy like dough. Crispy flounder sandwich wasn’t crispy at all and the bread was tough. Lobster grilled cheese sandwich was on thin bread and had lots of chopped bacon on it. Couldn’t taste the lobster or see it. It’s basically a grilled bacon cheese sandwich. I recommend removing the bacon and putting it on Texas toast. Beautiful artwork in this place. Iced tea was very good. I think they have good menu choices but just need to step up the quality a bit.

We dined at Hometown Seafood with a party of 14 and had a mix of positives and frustrations.

I specifically chose this restaurant over a chain because I wanted to support a local business, which makes this experience even more disappointing.

The food was good, service was fine (nothing outstanding but solid), and the atmosphere was nice. We were seated in a private room, which was lovely and appreciated for a group our size.

However, the restaurant closed three hours early at 6pm, despite us having made a reservation the day before for 5pm. There was no notice of this change until we saw a sign on the door as we walked in. That felt unprofessional and rushed our entire experience.

We were also disappointed to see an automatic 25% gratuity added for parties of 15 or more — especially since we only had 14 people. Beyond that, 25% feels quite high. When we brought this up to the manager, he came in with an attitude and seemed unwilling to understand our concerns. After we voiced our concerns, he did remove the automatic gratuity from one of the checks, which we appreciated, but the interaction itself left a sour taste.

Several people at our table currently work or have worked in the service industry, so the response was surprising and off-putting.

Overall, the food and setting were enjoyable, but the early closing, unexpected gratuity, and management’s response left a bad impression. We wanted to love this place, but the experience made it hard to recommend for larger groups.

The waitress was awesome. The atmosphere was great. That’s about it. We ordered the lobster and ribeye hoagie, the lobster mac and cheese, and a salad. There was a bug on my lettuce. Do they wash the lettuce? The steak and lobster were chopped so finely that I couldn’t be sure that it was lobster or ribeye. There were a lot of inedible pieces of steak as well. The lobster mac and cheese lacked flavor. It actually tasted like nothing. The salad was beautiful, but I sent it back because of the bug. The waitress said that the lobster grilled cheese is good. I MAY return to try it. They do give a really good military discount.

8 beers Michelin ultras and 3 appetizers = $93 happy hour prices
Waitress served boiled shrimp with a dash of seasoning and no cocktail sauce. Shrimp were dry and rubbery. Oysters Rockefeller, half dozen, were very gritty and Shelly. Dozen wings, no ranch, had to ask. Although it’s not ghetto (yet) like Hometown, overall, Im rating 5 out 10. Waitresses slow, not really interested. If there is nothing else open, I might go back. Restrooms sticky, fairly dirty. Back to Rockos dive bar it is.

We were supposed to try a new brunch spot on Sunday but it was a 45 min to 1 hour wait! Absolutely not!
Since we were in the Pearland area, I called my coworker to see what she suggested as an alternative and she told us about Hometown Seafood.

I was skeptical at first because a lot of people hadn’t reviewed this restaurant but I figured we could give it a try since it was lunch time and we hadn’t eaten yet.

We arrived about an hour after they opened and there were only 2 tables and a couple of seats at the bar that were occupied. Again, skeptical because I didn’t see a lot of people during brunch.
We were seated and assigned Anthony as our waiter. He was patient with us and very attentive. When he took our order, he repeated it back to ensure accuracy…check!
When our food came to the table, it was accurate just as I expected it would be…check!

We ordered the crab balls, fried oysters, house salad and the shrimp and grits.

The crab balls were seasoned to perfection and were hitting all the right notes! I usually love sharing food with my better half but today was not that day! Lol! This was truly the song that my mouth needed to hear…check!

The house salad was prepared with crisp and fresh vegetables. The purple onion gave it the right touch of sweetness and the oyster crackers were a nice addition. I love salad and someone in the kitchen knows how to make a dang good one…check!

The chorizo, shrimp and beer broth on top of the grits tasted great. The grits, however, were a fail…boooo! They could have been cooked a little longer. They were more on the stiffer side and “gritty”. They wouldn’t have been able to stand on their own if all else were taken away.

Since 95% of the food we ordered tasted great, I’m anxious to go back and try something different.

Great addition to pearland! The last two places in this spot haven’t done well. I’m hopeful this one will stick around. The service was great! Love the changes they did to the place. The food was great. We do want to come back and try more. The baked oysters were great! The Brussels could use a little more flavor however the bacon in them is really good! Lobster sliders have a great sauce! Could use a little more lobster. I would recommend the restaurant! It’s very new and I can tell they are tweaking and it will keep getting better!

This place is a hidden GEM! It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but once you step into the place, you automatically feel transported to the oceanside (at least I did). It’s been nicely renovated and upgraded from the places it used to be. We came here 2 days in a row because we had such a great experience the first time. Every dish we’ve tried, we liked! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the puffy tacos. I think it’s my new favorite food! Also, on Monday, they had a special on Oysters ($1 each!). If you’re in the area, you won’t be disappointed-Check them out. Also, their PoBoy is delicious, and the bread is soft, which is a huge highlight for me!

PS- They serve brunch! The Tres Leches French toast is delicious
