Very friendly staff, bilingual.
Very fresh and great food presentation/plating.
CARPACCIO DI MANZO BEEF CARPACCIO
+ FILET MIGNON AL PEPE VERDE
+ mineral water + lemonade was only $67.35USD with a 20% tip I left. They were all very friendly and even remind you to use the Mexican peso currency option on the payment machine so you obtain your banks better exchange rate, instead of choosing USD. (This is a great tip btw anytime you travel!!)
They also have wifi.
The filet was absolutely amazing – perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. Great quality and a very fair price for what you get.
And don’t skip dessert – the tiramisu was the perfect ending!
Beautiful atmosphere and exceptionally friendly service. Highly recommend!
Learning that the restaurant is owned by a fellow Newfoundlander felt like a little piece of home away from home while travelling in Mexico.
A perfect mix of great food, excellent service, and heart. If you’re in Playa del Carmen, don’t miss it — we loved it so much that we’re already booked to return tomorrow night for New Year’s Eve.
We were going to go to the super traditional steakhouse place (Sonora?), but we decided to go somewhere less…stuffy. We are so glad we chose this place. Came here for my cumpleaños and folks were very sweet getting us a complimentary tiramisu.
Blah blah blah—food is delicious with generous portions and excellent service, especially compared to other places nearby. Perhaps a strange location with the hotel down the way and pizza place on the other side of the plaza blasting music and music from the street. I love this for people watching. Like, I only saw people leaving the pizza place—what’s going on there? I digress.
But totally worth it in actually choosing this place for the food. Highly highly recommend and please always remember to tip as much as much as you can!
I give 2 stars only because the meat tasted okay. Otherwise, it’s a tourist trap. They swapped our steaks and served the wrong doneness to the wrong person. Instead of fixing it, the waiter just made excuses.
The biggest issue came at the end: they slipped a 15% gratuity into the payment automatically. We paid it by mistake because we weren’t paying close enough attention. Don’t let them trick you – check the machine before you tap your card!
It’s a true hidden gem that’s not in the main tourist area, but it’s still very easy to access right off the avenue. They offer outdoor dining only in an atmosphere is very chill and relaxed, perfect for a laid back dinner and drinks. The food is incredible and consistently excellent, which is rare for a place we’ve been going to for this long. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality.
We always order the same favorites because they’re just that good. The chef salad with sliced New York strip steak is amazing, the tagliatelle with mushrooms is rich and comforting, and the carbonara with jumbo shrimp is outstanding. Their mixed drinks are also excellent and well made.
We were originally referred here by a taxi driver 7-8 years ago, and we’ve been coming back ever since. The reviews truly speak for themselves. If you’re looking for a place that feels local, welcoming, and consistently delicious, this is it!
