Tried for the first time and found out it will be the last time. Very disappointed with the experience. Ordered sesame chicken. Found it to be a small portion for the high cost, did not have any spice despite requesting medium, no vegetables included, plain white rice, very artificial/too sweet sauce, and overall very poor quality food. There are much better options for Asian takeout food in the twin cities. I would recommend skipping this one.

Food is really good and the portions are big. We had the sesame chicken, vegetable stir fry with tofu, general tsos chicken and combo fried rice and all of it was perfect.

Take out only is their business format, which seems to be successful. But would love a dime in only..

The food delivered for the low mein was very good. I’m picky about the texture of noodles not being overcooked or 2 soft they were perfect. If it wasn’t for the price of lo mein when I’ve been to other good places that use to be from $8-$14 would be reasonable. But $17-$18 a bit high. Otherwise I’d gladly give a 5 star. I will still order or come here and there just not as often.

Top 3 Chinese place in the twin cities. However, if ordering outside their lunch menu, my meal goes from $9.95 to $25…..this is absolutely insane. I call at 2:09pm and my meal goes up 150% calling 9 minutes after 2. Also inside used to be very nice. It looks like it should be shut down now. This place is ran sooooo poorly but stay afloat due to it’s delicious food.
150% markup for the same food needs to be addressed. That is simply ignorant.

5 spice is my favorite Asian restaurant in the area. Most of the food is average fare, but high quality ingredients. The egg rolls are unique and a treat! They are the best I’ve had. The fried rice is the good kind. Compared to other places, it’s far more flavorful.

Ordered chicken fried rice but there was no chicken in it. The chicken appears to be about $2 extra so it’s a bummer.
The rice and vegetables are OK, but they are pretty bland. It’s the typical yellow colored fried rice, not my favorite.
I doubt I will be back.

The pork fried rice was dry and flavorless with undercooked vegetables. I didn’t even want to finish eating it. I’ve had much better pork fried rice at the Red Ginger and Angkor. The cream cheese wantons were ok, but very hard and tough to eat as they tore my mouth up. I liked the egg rolls. They were very flakey from the frying and had good flavor.

I have never had a bad experience ordering from here. Going on 7 years now of amazing food with tons of flavor. They are always able to customize your order to what you want and they have a clean atmosphere which is very appealing as well. I drive 25 minutes out of my way passing easily 10+ Other Asian take out restaurants but would always still choose here. 5 stars.
