The 4Roots Cafe at Orlando Science Center is proudly serving plant-forward menu items, sourcing as much produce as possible from local growers. The cafe is a partnership with the 4R Restaurant Group, and a portion of the proceeds benefits 4Roots. The 4Roots Cafe offers a hybrid service approach of grab-and-go options and a separate line to create customizable sandwiches, flatbreads bowls and salads.

$7 for a salad bowl is not expensive. People in this state love complaining!
The roasted veggie options for the bowls were very good and everything seemed fresh. Roasted broccoli and brussel sprouts were both well cooked. Overall much better than most in museum restaurants I’ve been to.
Finally made another visit to the science museum after 2 years. Food at the new 4Roots Café is OK, but it’s not worth the higher price for my family. My kids don’t really like the food.
Not everyone thinks that a “plant based” menu is the best choice for their family. Hot dog for $6. I know it’s 2021 pricing, but that’s 2021 Disney pricing. The science center is not close to other restaurants, so we will have to bring our own food the next time we visit. I miss the Subway restaurant that used to be here. They had more selections (both meat and plants), bigger portions, and lower prices.
I opted for the BBQ offerings and tried both the pork and chicken sliders, which were served on soft Hawaiian rolls, along with a side of mac and cheese. The sliders were delicious—tender, flavorful, and the perfect portion size for a light lunch. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, rounding out the meal nicely.
While 4Roots Cafe is more of a simple cafeteria-style spot, it served its purpose perfectly for a quick and tasty meal. It’s not fine dining, but for a casual lunch at the science center, it was just what we needed. If you’re looking for a quick and tasty meal while exploring the exhibits, 4Roots Cafe is a solid choice!
Update 2025: they took the beans off the menu which made the bowls amazing. Now the bowls are just ok. This visit, it was too salty! Sucks, because we came here to eat too.
