I had an absolutely fantastic experience at 419 West! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, made great recommendations, and checked in at just the right times without ever being intrusive. It really made the whole evening feel relaxed and special.
The New York strip steak was cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned with a beautiful sear on the outside. Every bite was juicy and delicious. You can tell they use high-quality cuts and know exactly how to prepare them.
The seafood platter was just as impressive. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared, from the crispy fried selections to the tender, flavorful seafood. The portions were generous, and the presentation was excellent.
Between the outstanding service and the incredible food, 419 West truly delivered a top-notch dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great steak and seafood night out!

I went with a group of 5 and all but one of us enjoyed our meal. Our server was terrible. We requested lemons 3 separate times. The last time she said she would get them when she got through taking all the orders. Her service was slow. We ordered bread but by the time she delivered it, it was cold. When one of our group asked her about the crab cakes her response was she didn’t know because she didn’t make them. Our party was sitting at a round table with ample space for her to walk around the table. Instead she chose to pass out drinks by reaching over us. Generally, I would describe her as rude. We spoke to the manager and requested another server but he chose not to oblige our request. Other servers who helped her deliver food were pleasant. It was a disappointing evening.

Had the best Chicken Alfredo everrr here. Was so tasty and creamy! Customer service and ambiance was alright. Only giving 4 stars because the Half Rack Ribs we ordered was cold on the inside, but our server was happy to heat it up. The fries were really good as well, just the right amount of crispiness. I’ll likely go back!

Wow…corned beef Reuben’s…more than 60% fat..almost no beef..Manager struggled to make this right! Finally she offered a different meal {all three refused a new meal}..3 of our 6 guests ordered this meal..then 419 charged the ladies for their dessert.. $7.99 each for bread pudding…wow. 419 has really gone downhill..very sad.This was our last visit.

When we walked in, the wood fire aroma was so enticing. Even though we ate at a booth, the white tablecloths added such an elegant atmosphere. We were served so well by Alan. If there was something needed, we asked him and he complied immediately with an attitude that was kind and compliant. We ordered pizza and a burger. The quality and taste of our food was exceptional. We hope to eat there again when we next visit Salem, VA.

Our party of seven was served promptly with delicious entries each having specific temperatures and alterations. We stopped here late night on a Sunday, about 30 mins before closing, and were welcomed by the most pleasant staff wanting to serve us. We were the only ones in the restaurant and everyone was so attentive, food was delicious, the manager came out and talked to us for a while- and everything was wonderful! They could have easily told us that they were getting ready to close and sent us away… But they were so accommodating and provided an impactful experience for our family. Thank you so much!

I don’t know who manages this place, but it needs a makeover from the par levels of inventory to service to quality of food. We dined on Valentine’s Day, fairly early and were out of several menu items already, service was terrible, and for a place that wants to be a fine dining establishment was seriously a joke. The asparagus seemingly came out of a can, steaks were not cooked to temperature, and mashed potatoes taste like Bob Evan’s instant. The only positives were honestly that the drinks were pretty good, though you should order 2 at a time if you want them promptly and the server seemed to be doing his best . I understand it’s a busy day but looked adequately staffed, and should be prepared for one of the busier restaurant nights of the year. As a first time diner at this restaurant we won’t be back. We chose from the weekend brunch menu and were not disappointed. The omelet was fluffy but needed salt. It was probably made with 5 eggs as it was huge and very tasty, with vegetables and spinach. I would have added some cheese to bring it all together. Hash browns were good, and all the food was served very hot. Service was impeccable. Ate outside on the patio, and it was pleasant and breezy. The chairs make an unbelievably loud sound on the concrete floor, and the table was beautiful but rocked no matter how it was turned. Overall, it was a very pleasant meal in a great setting with attentive servers.

We went back for the delicious weekend brunch, reviewed above. Boy, what a change from this summers visit. Waitstaff seemed eager to please, but was possibly new due to some information and behaviors. We ordered water and beverages. Waitstaff had to make 2 trips bc only brought one water. Had to make another trip for the creamer for the coffee. We ordered the vegetable omlet and asked if we could have rye instead of white toast. At first, waitstaff said they were not sure if the restaurant had rye bread. Was then asked if we wanted it as a side. If the restaurant doesn’t have rye, how could it be supplied as a side? Waitstaff seemed flustered, so we just consented and said just bring us what it comes with. The omelet, which at our summer visit was light, fluffy and thick with possible 4 eggs and plump with filling.. Today’s omlet was grease coated and thin, probably 2 eggs, with not much filling. The Hash Browns were small ends of french fries, but the ketchup was good. Refills were brought in a timely manner. The atmosphere was somewhat dark. Think it will be awhile until we go back again.

Went back for the weekend brunch and ordered the same vegetable omlet with potatoes as previous visits. The meal is a value $8. The omlet was small, probably 2 eggs, with green pepper slices, spinach, muchrooms and tomatoes mixed in. It was a tad flat and greasy, and not fluffy like the first one we were served last summer. The potatoes were average but nicely seasoned. The coffee was excellent, but we waited and waited for refills, as well as for the meal. Waitstaff seemed unfocused, and not excessively busy. When the meal finally came, the gentleman serving it apologized for the wait as well as the server at her next appearance, The restaurant was very busy on our arrival at 1:30, but quickly thinned shortly thereafter. The atmosphere was pleasant, with indoor and outside seating.

Had brunch with a friend, and the restaurant redeemed itself today with a five-star rating again. I don’t know why, but I always order the vegetable omelette and it was fluffy, and non-greasy with the inner vegetables cooked perfectly. Toast was nicely crunchy. Potatoes were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Coffee was exceptional and we were treated to lots of creamer as we requested.
Service was impeccable and the server kept coming back to ensure we had everything we needed. Very nice surroundings and wonderful meal!

We had a good experience here. No wait and great service. My husband had a burger, and the patty had an unusual spice (garam marsala?). I had a Cuban that was good, but heavy on the mayonnaise. The fries were fresh and hot and the onion rings were yummy.
