There is something to be said about going to your local Mom and Pop diner. 40th Street Café has a long reputation of customer satisfaction and getting top-notch customer service. I just went there this morning as I’ve gone there many other mornings and had another delicious breakfast. Typically I’m a creature of habit when I find something I really enjoy it becomes a stable. This delicious fine smorgasbord of food that you see a before me is a bacon cheddar cheese omelette with buttered rye toast & home fries. Thank you for all your delicious food choices and your spectacular level of Customer Service.

I stopped in for breakfast with a friend at 40th Street Cafe, and I’m so glad we did. I had no idea this place even existed since it’s tucked back in a mini mall, but it’s definitely worth finding.
The space is small, so I can see how there might be a wait during busy times, but the food and service more than make up for it. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs, and it was excellent. The gravy was flavorful, and the over-medium eggs were cooked perfectly, exactly how they should be.
Our waitress was super friendly and genuinely brightened our day, which really added to the experience. Between the great food and the outstanding service, we had a fantastic breakfast.
We will definitely be back and highly recommend this spot.

Locals place for 31 years now. Went on Sunday AM. Enjoyed the short stack of pancakes, hash Browns and excellent coffee.
Also had a great turkey sandwich for lunch. Excellent quality turkey and fries.

If you like the small town cafe feel (and throwback pricing to go with it – seriously, in today’s environment, it is standout from a value perspective). The food is very good (hearty and simple) and the service is quirky, but very warm & pleasant.
If you’re into the modern, efficient-turns model of a restaurant, you probably won’t like this place. It’s much more deliberate and informal. Some might call it inefficient or hokey. It’s relaxed (despite the noise in the tight quarters) and comfortable for me.
I always feel that a reliable measure of a good breakfast place is the hash browns. And yeah, these rocked. All the food was very competently prepared and the eggs done exactly to order (harder than it sounds).
Top it off with a cookie on a stick for the kiddos and a smile… great weekend breakfast with the fam.

We had four different meals and of course the biscuits. The omelets, chicken fried steak, beef patty with eggs. Great service from Tina, friendly and welcoming. Diner with good food and it opens at 5:00 AM , You can’t beat that.

Stopped by here on a whim, vibe was very local, can tell a majority of the patrons are regulars. Made me feel happy to be there. Food was good, coffee was great, if I’m in the neighborhood I’d stop back for breakfast again.

Sadly we won’t be going anymore after 17 yrs. This has been my favorite place and I have sent so many people. Food is still good and employees are amazing but $30 for pancakes and bacon- I can get that so many other places for 1/2 the price. Owner didn’t help the community by changing the kids menu to under 10. So sad!

I really enjoy the food at this spot. The staff is super friendly and always helpful, and the place is kept really clean. It’s a simple little café in a strip mall with plenty of parking and a welcoming vibe.
