Something for everyone, really. You can’t beat it!
I cut down on my visits over the last year, and tonight will be my last. Came with a friend and when she ordered she specfically called out the happy hour appetizer as well as pointing to it on the HH menu on the table. When the food arrived, we were surprised at the size of the portion for a HH item. The runner dropped it and left and the server never came by, so we ate our meals. I had the Mexican Pizza, my usual. OK but bland and about 1/3 smaller than it used to be.
On her bill my friend was overcharged for her drink and meal. Waited about 10 min for the server to come back, and she pointed out the drink on the board was advertised at a price lower than she was charged. She also noted that she had gotten charged full price and not the HH price for her meal, despite being clear she wanted the happy hour item.
When our server came back the drink price was corrected but the server said the manager would only discount her food $3, not the full $8 because she had been served the regular item, not the HH size. My friend stated she would not pay for something she did not order, especially since she was clear when she ordered what she wanted and she ate less than half of it (left on the table when we left) We waited another 15 min, and our server came back and said, basically, the manager did not care.
First of all, why the manager, who was standing at the podium, make the server have the conversation instead of coming over is beyond me. Second, how are we supposed to know the whether what was served was the HH item?
We got up to leave and my friend told the manager directly that she would pay for what she ordered. He first admitted the server made a mistake when she entered the order and that he “already addressed with her.” Then went on to state it was our fault for not comparing the food to the menu picture, not flagging our MIA server to tell her about the error and then wait for a new order (or, more likely , the kitchen to toss half the quesadilla, microwave the other half and re-serve it). He then told my friend it was HER fault for not doing this and tried to force her to pay for their error.
Quite frankly, if he wants customers to compare food to the menu photos upon it being served, then A LOT of food will be sent back for not matching pictures AT ALL.
At this point, my friend was raising her voice, the manager was treating her like a criminal and it was not a good situation. A true manager would not only have come over to us to discuss at the table instead of us waiting almost 30 min for help instead of US having to approach HIM. A true manager would admit the error was on them without throwing the server under the bus in front of customers, have the customer pay for what she ordered and note that the error was in her favor.
After being talked down to by him, waiting for 30 min for a resolution, having to seek him out and then being accused of not ordering correctly, he then stated “this is all on camera”…um, OK?…of course my friend got very upset.
At the end, she said she would pay for what she ordered or not pay at all and he could call the police and show them the footage of her POINTING at the HH menu. Best way to handle it, probably not. But given it was an escalation of being accused of multiple things by the manager, it was not out of line. All while having to talk over him telling her to go outside and calm down.
There are SO many Mexican restaurants within a 2 mile radius with food and service.
Eduardo took my weird and frantic phone call, and was willing to problem solve with me. The restaurant managed to prepare 300 enchiladas for us in under an hour and they were delicious! The entire order came out perfectly, piping hot, and full of flavor. They also threw in fresh chips and salsa, which were a hit with our guests. We were able to walk in the door and pop the food right into chafing dishes to get everyone fed.
What truly impressed us was how accommodating the staff was, especially considering the dinner rush they were in the middle of. They handled our last-minute request with such professionalism, calm, and kindness. It’s rare to find a restaurant that is this flexible and willing to go the extra mile for their customers.
If you’re planning an event or just looking for a great place for Mexican food, give this spot a try. They truly saved the day for us, and we’ll be forever grateful! Thank you again for everything! You guys rock! ✨
