Very quaint & popular Restaurant in downtown Cedar Key, FL. We stopped in for lunch. It was a cold, windy day with temps dropping. We ordered hot tea, with honey lemon – pleasantly soothing. Although it was extra thick, the clam chowder was delicious. The order of clams was amazing, said, my wife.
I ordered the smoked salmon on sourdough. The flavors blended so well, they melted in my mouth -mmm! The staff was friendly & the establishment is military friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Really great find. Great food reasonable priced. My wife and I wanted to check out the area and this was a great start for lunch. Large portions. She had Fish Tacos os that were well seasoned and with a whole fish filet hanging out the ends. I had the Shrimp Poboy. It was just perfect with the Romulade sauce. We finished with Key Lime Cake!! Well done 2nd Street!

My wife raves about the coconut shrimp and I raves about the shrimp Alfredo. Staff is always very good and friendly. If you can eat outside, the atmosphere is more enjoyable.

Not good at all! The clams were pitiful no flavor not to mention the stuffed mushrooms were sour. Totally undercooked…this is a big time pass! Never to return! Be aware that the original Steamers on the water burnt down due to a kitchen fire followed up by a hurricane that made it unworkable. It now sits at the center of the Cedar Keys in a small building with limited parking.

Excellent place to bring your fur baby. Gotta ask for diamond girl. The food was phenomenal. The cheesy grits were the star of the plate. All the food was perfect and food perfectly paired together and the portions were spot on. All the wait staff was very nice and friendly.

Steamers had a fire and the Hurricane destroyed their bldg. On the waters edge. They had a beautiful view of the bay and great food. They are now sharing a small restaurant on second street until they can rebuild, under their current circumstances they are able to deliver great food. We ate off of Steamers menu. Crab cake sandwich meal for me and my husband had fish tacos (mahi). Please support this small village of resilient people.

We absolutely LOVE this place! Alexa was such an amazing waitress, and the grandma was great company! We came to Cedar Key to look at a few properties and were worried when we were on the way there that we wouldn’t find anywhere to grab lunch. Not only were we wrong but, we ended up finding one of our favorite places to date! The sweet tea was to die for. The sampler was out of this world good. The French dip was among the best we have ever had and the red fish sandwich was ABSOLUTELY FIRE!
KUDOS to ownership/management. This place is absolutely amazing.

As one of the few open restaurants while Cedar Key recovers from the storms of 2024 you might run into a wait.

The food and service here is OUTSTANDING!!! Just to be clear, Steamers Clam Bar and 2nd Street Cafe share the same building. Our waitress was sweet and made us feel like family right away. She made great suggestions, which made it that much harder-lol! We shared a huge bucket of clams cooked in garlic butter with a side of hushpuppies and fries which were all Great!. We ordered their special house salad that comes with grilled fish, shrimp and a scallops on top, which we agreed was Amazing. Great people, Very fair prices and Excellent food. I Highly recommend eating here!!!
