Came here for dinner on recommendation of our Airbnb host.
We had 2 lobster rolls, seafood pasta, haddock sandwich, fish and chips and a clam chowder.
The food was good but not excellent.
The service was not good. We were denied entry upstairs and they suggested we find a different place to eat (there are not many other places to eat in the area) but somehow they didn’t know that there was some space downstairs at the bar. I have a feeling part of the reason we were treated like that was that we are from overseas.

We had the blackened fish tacos and clam chowder. It was wonderful. Next time I’ll will try the bruschetta which the table next to us had and it looked great. The view was also beautiful. Highly recommend

We had a very good experience with dinner at 27 fathoms on a Tuesday night in mid-September. We arrived early (just after 5) and were seated right away. Service was very good and everyone enjoyed their meals; the atmosphere on the deck was fantastic with the view over the working harbor on a beautiful evening. The fish and chips were excellent!

A Must-Visit Spot in Stonington, Maine.
We had an amazing dinner at 27 Fathoms Waterfront Grille! This gorgeous little restaurant is perfectly situated right on Main Street with a killer view of Stonington Harbor—absolutely stunning as the sun starts to set.
The menu has a great variety, with seafood as the star (as it should be in coastal Maine!), but there are also plenty of options like burgers and salads if you’re in the mood for something different. We arrived just before 5 PM and grabbed seats at the bar, which was already starting to fill up—always a good sign.
We kicked things off with a specialty Bloody Mary recommended by the bartender—fantastic choice—and followed it with a blueberry mint mojito that was seriously on point. Our appetizer, cheese sticks with marinara, came out quickly and hit the spot.
For mains, we had the creamy, comforting lobster mac and cheese and a perfectly done Connecticut-style lobster roll with melted butter, served with crispy French fries and fresh coleslaw. Everything was absolutely delicious and well-prepared, and we found the prices very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The bartender not only made great drinks but also shared some cool local knowledge about the Main Street business district and nearby entertainment spots. It really added to the whole experience.
Highly recommend 27 Fathoms—great food, beautiful views, and welcoming vibes. We’ll definitely be back!

We had lunch at 27 Fathoms Waterfront Grill in Stonington, Maine on Monday when they opened, and it was outstanding! We tried the clams, oysters, lobster roll, and clam chowder—everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The seafood really showcases the best of Maine, and the waterfront setting makes for a beautiful, relaxing meal.
You absolutely need to go, but maybe not so often that I can’t get a table next time! This is a must-visit for anyone in the area looking for top-notch seafood with a view.

Best crab cakes I have had! We went to Stonington because my husband’s dad grew up there and we wanted to check it out, what a great little town with such character and 27 Fathoms was filled with good wait staff and atmosphere. We sat out on the back deck overlooking the harbor. We shared the crab cakes which were tasty not a fried patty, filled with crab. My husband had the lobster rolled warmed with butter, the lobster tasted like it just came off the boat and I had the fish and chips, moist and crunchy. The fries were very good! Highly recommend checking out 27 Fathoms Grill!

We were visiting from GA and were staying in Stonington this week. We got to the restaurant around 6pm and the place was full, so our table of 4 did have to wait a bit for a table to open. Also parking was a little rough to find, but again the restaurant was full. HOWEVER, the wait was worth it. The servers were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and came out hot. The majority of us had Lobster Rolls and the Lobster Mac&Cheese–no complaints at all. The view from the restaurant was beautiful. Could not recommend them more.

Dinner was delicious! We got the beef tenderloin and catch of the day. Both meals were nicely portioned, fresh, and full of flavor. We went early November so there was no line when we arrived around 6pm unlike the summer time. I’m sure finding parking during summer is harder a time than what we encountered. The dining room is small and quaint, very family orientated. Owners are really nice and we look forward to coming back!
