Take the backroads
Our 2nd trip here and it did not disappoint. The outside appearance is a little unassuming but don’t let it stop you.

The Server/bartender makes a great spicy margarita.

We ordered the wings, basket of fries and the mushrooms. Something we get a lot. Just gonna say it – very good. Fries were crispy, wings were juicy. (Horseradish dipping sauce could use a little something)

Always friendly staff. Good food. Give it a try.

This place is amazing. 1 stop shop for whatever you want or need. The double burger is insane . The wings are cooked to perfection and the hot sauce

Great live music the night I went. Burger was great but not a fan of wide flat fries. Prices were reasonable. Waitress was pleasantly efficient.

The reviews here were so convincing we went for breakfast – it was an expensive mistake. It was the worst meal I’ve had at a restaurant in BG. The butter containers were so old they had shrunk to less than half full somehow and were probably rancid. The syrup packets had a film on top. The hash browns were tasteless freezer bag quality. The tater tots tasted like straight up grease. The toast was completely stale. The cheesy scrambled eggs were artificial. The special omelette was delicious and the only thing that was good, but it came with mushrooms which was definitely not on the menu. The server was super nice but we needed knives – we asked for ketchup early on and it came when we were almost done and by then it was too late to ask for knives. It’s a dive bar so stick to that function if you’re looking. I noticed that they do have $2 pints on Tuesday and karaoke on Fridays so that might be the time to go.

231 Bar & Grill is a great spot to enjoy good food and a laid-back atmosphere. The vibe is welcoming and comfortable, making it a perfect place to grab a meal, watch a game, or relax with friends.

The food is consistently delicious, with generous portions and plenty of options on the menu. From burgers and wings to classic bar-and-grill favorites, everything is flavorful and cooked just right. The drinks are well-made and always cold.

It’s been a while since I’ve been, but I went today. The food is still just as awesome as ever, and so was the staff! We appreciate y’all!

Great food, great people! I haven’t been to this restaurant before, but me and my friend went for trivia night. It was a fun time, and a lot of regulars were there. They all had suggestions for 5 or 6 of their favorite items! I can say i loved the fried pickles and the patty melt with Cajun fries I ordered. If you’re looking for a good old southern dive, this one is a gem! The restaurant/bar was very nice inside as well. I ate half my food before I realized I forgot to take pictures.

Upon arriving to this location it seemed very “Hole In The Wall” like. After all, it’s in between a gas station and liquor store. But when we went inside our expectations were blown out of the water. The inside was extremely clean, wasn’t very busy, and we were greeted by a very friendly waitress.

The food was fantastic and the beer on tap was the cherry on the top. The servers were extremely nice and you could tell that the relationship between them and the kitchen staff was very tight. They were joking and laughing together and overall it was just a happy environment.

We were also told that they do $1 wings on Sunday’s for the games! So you will absolutely see us back.

Chef Ivar is a culinary genius and should have his own restaurant. Bartenders walked us through the menu and was top notch with personality and hospitality. Best thing in bowling green Ky. Best Fries in the USA.
