Food Review: Honest Take
Excellent customer service! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. The inside is clean, nicely decorated, and gives off a comfortable hometown feel.
I ordered the ribs and sausage dog plate with loaded fries. The loaded fries were tasty and seasoned well, but the main focus—the ribs—were a bit of a letdown. They were on the dry and tougher side, with several pieces hard to bite into. The barbecue sauce definitely helped add some moisture and flavor, but the ribs themselves could use a little more attention.
The baked beans were solid and flavorful, while the sausage dog came out dry and slightly cold. Unfortunately, the potato salad was the biggest miss—it had an off taste and texture that just didn’t resemble traditional Southern potato salad. I rarely use the word “disgusting,” but this one truly needs a recipe rework.
Overall, this place shines in hospitality and presentation, but the kitchen could benefit from revisiting some recipes and preparation methods. With such great people behind the counter, a few tweaks in the cooking process could easily turn this spot into a local favorite.
