Great Indian restaurant.
The owner was lovely and seated us straight away and brought cold water.
We went for lunch and chose off the lunch menu and the main menu. All the dishes were made fresh to order.
When we ordered our tea we were asked when we would like it ( now or at the end of the meal), which we liked as it’s always a nice way to finish a meal.
We had complimentary popadoms and homemade mint chutney.
The garlic naan was fluffy and light, and the roti was huge.
The lamb bhuna was succulent and melted in your mouth and fell apart. The gravey was thick,delicious, and full of flavour.
The chicken jhalfrezi had lots of veg and large pieces of chicken, which again fell apart and melted in your mouth. The gravey was thick, with lots of flavours coming through.
The portion sizes were huge, and there were lots of large pieces of succulent meat. Both came out very hot.
We ordered the Mysore dosa off the lunch special menu. This was soft on the middle with a nice crispy edge. The sambar, tomato chutney, and coconut chutney was delicious.
The gulab jamuns and pista kulfi for desert were delicious and went nicely with the masala chai.
The service was friendly and the food was excellent. Thank you, we will definitely be back soon.
Since writing this we have been several times and had some fantastic meals.
The manager always remembers us and is so friendly. We have tried several new dishes, and every time, they are just as delicious. They always come out piping hot.
This is our favourite Indian restaurant. I’m so glad we’ve found it. Fantastic food and customer service every time.

The very first time I have used this restaurant as they had moved into Woodvale. I have to say that I was extremely disappointed with the food we ordered. The Beef Madras Curry was spicy but no flavours other than a strong tomato based taste. The seekh kebab was passable. However, the worst was the vegetable biryani that was sloppy rice with gravy and vegetables. I have to say I have never ever eaten biryani that bad. The naans were OK. I have to honestly say that it’s the worse Indian food I have ever eaten. There is no comparison to the previous tenant Royal Taj. I did see a lot of negative reviews some highlighting my experiences. Unless they improve dramatically, I can’t see me patronising this local restaurant. What a shame Royal Taj has gone.

Very disappointed with the food, the seekh kebab was just ok. The vegetable biryani was like gravy and rice with vegetables, terrible.And the Madras curry not very exciting either. So disappointed. Not close to Royal Taj at all. I hope it does improve. I won’t be back. This is not Indian food. Not good at all.

The tandoori lamb skewers were next level goodness. The beef rogan josh literally melted in your mouth, with a cracking sauce.
Rice and papadams as you would expect.
Rated slightly lower on the atmosphere as the ladies in our small group commented that there was no air conditioning, only ceiling fans. Granted, it was a humid night.

I ordered the Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani from this place through Uber Eats. Unfortunately, it wasn’t actually Hyderabadi biryani as described on the menu. It would be great if the listing reflected what’s truly being served.

New ownership and brilliant! Want to say bad things to be selfish but seriously, best Indian cuisine for a very long time. All four of us commented how flavoursome our choices were. Very well priced! Service was challenged but they acknowledged the wait and apologised. Wasn’t that long and was worth it for the the flavours!

The Chef Owner Surender was referred to us by a mutual friend for our daughters Mehndi function dinner catering. Instead of buffet style we were looking for a heavy cocktail style food. Surender discussed the menu and delivered great food attracting praises from a lot of our guests. Aside from food and service, I’ve found Surender to be a gentleman and a pleasure to deal with highly recommended.

Pleasantly surprised when I saw this new restaurant in Woodvale Village Shopping Centre. The new owner is real professional chef which was evident in the quality of the food. Interior of the restaurant has been done up nicely and there are plenty of options for a vegetarian like me. I will recommend every one to try and find out.
