Everyone enjoyed their meals. I am usually a ribeye guy, went NY Strip tonight, which was huge, and good, though I would have rather had gone ribeye. Maybe it was a little over medium rare, and I asked for medium rare. I guess maybe I should have asked for closer to rare with this chef. Just not as flavorful nor as tender.nOne person at the table ordered a chicken salad, which took forever. They also took probably at least 15 minutes to get our bill figured out, we had some gift cards. I don’t think it should take 15 minutes though? It’s just math right?
It was a sweet time. The food is good, but it’s not as good as the price point, nor as good as Gardner’s or Ricardo’s.
The desserts are from Jean-Pierre’s Three16, and they were very good. Will probably go back to JP316 next.
To quickly sum it up, if you’re at a steakhouse for a steak, which you probably are and want some sides, you’ll likely be paying around $120 for your plate. (not including drinks)
Example: Aged Ribeye ($80) + Steak Butter ($6) + Mushrooms ($10) + Side of Veggies ($15) + Mashed Potatoes ($13) = $124
For wait times, we waited 15 minutes (with a reservation). Then it was about 1 hour before we got our single appetizer. Then another 30 minutes for the main courses to arrive.
At this point we were all starving, and with the sides as shared dishes, our plates seemed barren with the small steaks (see images).
We started with seasonal cocktails, French onion soup, and a seasonal salad with blackberry balsamic—everything was fresh and flavorful. For the main course, we enjoyed garlic mashed potatoes, a perfectly cooked surf and turf with filet mignon and lobster tail, and a ribeye steak. Every bite was delicious. Bread at the start of the meal was a nice touch.
The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, making it easy to talk and enjoy the evening. Reservations made the experience seamless with no wait time. Parking was also convenient—there’s free designated parking on the north side of the building, with the entrance on the east side by the ramp.
Overall, an excellent experience with outstanding food, service, and atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
We both ordered the 45-day aged ribeye. While the steak was flavorful and tender, it was cooked slightly beyond the requested medium rare and arrived closer to medium. It was also a bit under-seasoned for our taste. That said, the quality of the cut itself was evident. The crab dip appetizer was outstanding, as were the truffle mac and cheese and mushroom risotto. The peach cobbler dessert was truly phenomenal.
The primary disappointment came at the end of the meal. We requested that our leftovers be boxed to take home, but not all of the remaining food was packed. In my case, more than half of my steak was missing; only the uncut portion was boxed, while the portion I had sliced—though barely eaten—was not included. Additionally, the uneaten sides from my plate were not packed. Each item was boxed seperately in a tiny brown box. Had we been a dating couple rather than a married pair, this oversight could have resulted in one person not receiving all of their meal. I would have also preferred a single container for my meal and another for my husband, again a dating couple would have not each received their portions from their plates.
At a $400 price point for two, these details do matter. It would have been appreciated if the staff had clarified how we wanted the leftovers packaged, particularly since the sides are served family-style rather than individually. Boxing items per person would have ensured clarity and convenience. That being said, this is not a deal breaker to prevent us from returning again but I will be sure to provide instructions next time on packing up our leftovers better.
Overall, this is a very good restaurant with an inviting ambiance and strong culinary offerings. However, at a premium price level, attentiveness to small but meaningful details can make a significant difference in the overall experience.
The food was mediocre. Everything we got was under seasoned. My fish was cold and the teriyaki tasted bland. My significant other got the Elk with Juniper sauce and it was cold and bland. We were excited to try it as we love elk. The steak and elk both needed more salt, smokey flavor or something to kick it up a notch. The saving grace was the side dishes, we ordered fries and mash. I guess cant go wrong with those. Overall disappointed for paying $300+. The service was slow as well, but our server did an amazing job checking in. Would like to see the restaurant have free complementary bread or something before main meals. Overall the little extras would of been better for how much people pay to eat here. I would think they offer more amenities. or special occasion perks.
