The place has a good menu. I enjoyed the Brussel Sprouts quite a bit. They are crunch and tasty. The flat bread was so so. The OC Philly was messy and hard to eat. I wouldn’t order those two again but the atmosphere was good and it was nice and quiet.

We had such a great brunch at 1886 Brewing Co.. The brunch board was incredible—waffle-battered chicken, sausage, candied bacon, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, French toast sticks, churros, pancake bites, bread pudding, and all the syrups. We were shocked at how much of it we ate because it was that good.
We’re doing Dry January and had two of the best mocktails we’ve had anywhere—creative, balanced, and not an afterthought at all. Can’t wait to come back (both sober and not). Highly recommend for brunch in Orange Circle.

Food was surprisingly good. The Gabagool flatbread was a good pick and the pretzel wasn’t overly salty like at many other establishments. There was a decent selection of beers, but unfortunately several of them were not available when we visited.

I’m a local here at Old Towne orange and got really excited for their new 14$ special!
I came in and you seat yourself, my elderly mother arrived before me (her vision is no longer the best) and told me she was standing at the host stand for five minutes without being directed by any staff at all, despite them being at the bar.
The service was minimal, definitely just takes or order and leaves you for the rest of your stay type vibe, but I wasn’t expecting much for 14$. I was surprised when I saw a cockroach crawl across the floor and a hair in my beer. Prior to me discovering the hair at the bottom of my beer, it was pretty tasty.
The food was actually one of the worst I’ve had in the circle. The oil on my fries was definitely too old (they were dark brown and very oily), which is surprising since I came in for an early lunch. Beside that its what you expect from a brewery, tables were sticky, staff dismissive, food mediocre at best.

Good overall, but nothing particularly unique so it stands about average to similar restaurants. Food prices in summer 2025 are fair and about average

I just can’t say enough nice things about this place. I just went for a walk with the dogs in the Orange Circle and stopped in for brunch in the patio. They said the patio was closed because of the wind but let them check. They totally accommodated us, even though a private party reserved the patio soon also. The service, the food and the ambiance are outstanding! I am a big believer in giving credit where credit is due, and the staff here are the best!

We always enjoy coming to 1886 Brewing Co. after an always wonderful visit at the nearby (and free!) Hilbert Museum of California Art. We are greeted warmly, seated quickly (we do make reservations via Opentable to get our points), and always receive quick and friendly service. Our last visit Joseph and Makayla took care of us. Both so sweet and engaging. Joseph is a true customer service professional – efficient, funny, and interesting. 1886 now has a app which one can collect points when frequenting 1886 and we took advantage of that too! Besides the yummy food, great beer, exemplary service, they also have their own app which one can collect points. Truly an exceptional experience every time!

Absolutely love this place, it was very enjoyable. The waitress was very nice and super patient. The food was outstanding highly recommend the burgers, the ambience was just right.
I enjoyed the smaller menu, as it’s easy to get overwhelmed. But everything was super delicious.

1886 Brewing Company has a good vibe going, tasty beers, comfortable seating and good service. Our food on this day was just okay…shishito peppers were flavorful, but wasn’t crazy about the tempura batter they came coated in. The chicken wings were very avg. and only 6 to a serving. What was supposed to be a “smash burger” was a bit disappointing…the burger tasted like a frozen preformed patty…no bueno! Still, we would come back again for another try.

Sad to say this place was disappointing. Our fish and chips were overcooked to the point of becoming dry. The fries looked beyond crispy, and tasted as if they were refried. Not to mention they seemed to be the last crumbs of the batch and we found burned Brussels sprouts mixed in. Our server was very pleasant, too bad the food was a bust.
