I came in tonight with my daughter and it was SO CUTE the decorations were so tasteful, warm and cozy. We didn’t get seated right away because it was busy but it didn’t take long and we got to sit in a waiting area which was perfect to keep my daughter contained lol

When we got sat Rachel was our server and we ordered right away and all at once basically. Even though we did that everything was perfectly coursed out. The bruschetta was super flavorful and delicious! The Cesar salad that I got with my entree was delicious with the shaved Parmesan and homemade dressing. The main course which was the mushroom rigatoni with vodka sauce was just spectacular! Finishing off with the crème brûlée was perfect, and it was very decently sized. I highly recommend coming to 1855 if you’re ever in cottage grove or close to it!

This is our third year visiting 1855 to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday (one day apart). 1855 is a beautiful restaurant in a historic building and always so well decorated for the holidays. We were there on a Tuesday and there were a lot of folks at the bar, but the dining room was pretty sparse. Everything about this experience was just perfect. Tessa, our waitress, was very friendly and attentive. We ordered two signature drinks from the bar and they were both excellent drinks. We both ordered the filet, hers with a shrimp add-on and mine bacon-wrapped. I had the tomato soup and my wife had a house salad. The salad dressings are all made in-house and she said the salad was very fresh and tasty. The filets came out soon after and were done to perfection, both super tender and delicious. The shrimp were also very good. For dessert, we ordered the Flourless Chocolate Torte (decadent and delicious), and they also brought me a very generous chocolate sundae for my birthday (with whipped cream and a cherry on top of course!). Honestly, this place is one of our favorite area restaurants and I would definitely recommend 1855 for a great dining experience.

Every time we visit 1855 we have such an amazing experience. Our server Ella was so attentive and knowledgeable, and the management team is awesome. From drinks to appetizers, salads to entrees, and desserts, their menu never fails to impress. Service is always great!

1855 Saloon and Grill is one of those places you keep coming back to because everything just hits. The food is so good—especially the fish fry, which is easily one of my favorites in the area. And seriously, don’t sleep on their pizzas… they’re insanely good and totally underrated. I also love that they have a late night menu, perfect for date night!

On top of that, the service is always friendly and welcoming, and you can tell the staff actually cares about the experience. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and consistently great food. A total Cottage Grove gem.

Came here for my birthday with 5 other people. I have to say this is one of my favorite places to come to. As soon as we walked in we were greeted. There is a vast variety of food, fantastic drinks & the staff is great. We had the pleasure of being served by Tori. She is beyond AMAZING!!! Very attentive, has a great sense of humor, just overall a fantastic person & server!!! She was a big part of our great experience here!!
Our starters were the Brussel Sprouts & the Brie & Pear pizza. Incredible!! Dinner was a variety of everything: fish tacos, pastas, burger, steak & the Sunday special of meatloaf. Everything was delish!!! We will definitely be back & will be requesting Tori as our server. Thank you!!!

We celebrated Christmas with my siblings and spouses this evening at 1855! Wow! This restaurant and it’s entire staff went above and beyond to ensure our family had an enjoyable experience. The food was amazing, and fairly priced! The service and atmosphere was also fantastic! Christina, the restaurant manager, and Rachel, our server, along with their support took great care of us! I can’t say enough good things about this experience! Thank you 1855 for making our family’s Christmas such a wonderful experience!

Came too late for brunch but had the wood fire pizza instead and it was truly delicious! Fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. And our cheese curds had the perfect batter on them. Service was excellent and Maddy made our experience so enjoyable. Christina was friendly and offered us many suggestions that were all delectable. Will be coming back for dinner sometime and will definitely check out the brunch with friends next time!

I was in last night without a reservation for Valentine’s Day and April was my server. She was probably the best service I’ve had in general but by far the best at 1855. Gave us wonderful recommendations for dinner and was a joy to talk to, always with a smile and always professional and polite. I observed her while there and we were there for a few hours, she never stopped working from checking on tables to hustling behind the bar, this woman is a gem and so is this restaurant ❤️

We had a great time! I had the Baja Shrimp Tacos and they were fantastic, and my wife raved about her bleu cheese burger.
The manager Tom and the team made the whole experience fantastic!

A hidden gem in Cottage Grove. We will definitely be back!
