Whoa! 1816 nails it on all levels! The food was presented wonderfully and tasted even better. Duck Nachos to start, tons of flavor and the fresh toppings finished it well. Quite a large portion as well. Entrees: Special of the night beef tenderloin(filet) beef fried rice and an exquisite sauce. Bison and Duck meatloaf over mash with peas and Gravy. The meatloaf was extremely flavorful the gravy rich and delicious perfectly complimenting the mashed and peas. The portions on the beef tenderloin were amazing beef in every bite and I couldn’t even finish the rice. Simply amazing attention to food taste preparation and detail. Service was amazing, good teamwork amongst staff. Slow Wednesday and we showed up kind of late but staff were friendly and inviting. Mayflower mixed drink was top notch as well. Can’t wait to go back!

I recently visited 1816 Kitchen and ordered the ramen with chicken, noodles, egg, soy miso broth, green onion, chili, cilantro, and sesame seeds. Overall, it was a very good bowl of ramen. However, I’ve eaten a lot of ramen and the broth didn’t taste like a typical soy miso broth to me. It tasted more like a beef or pork-based broth rather than miso. I’m familiar with the flavor of miso, and this didn’t quite match that profile. It was also a bit sweeter than expected and had quite a lot of cilantro. That said, I’m not complaining—the ramen was still very enjoyable and flavorful. I just think the broth might be different from what’s listed on the menu.

Wide variety on menu feature unique dishes.
I appreciated having some healthier dishes to choose from.
Great location on the square and cool digs inside.
Good music playing.
Service was mediocre. Staff seemed preoccupied with personal lives.
While the roasted beats in the salad bearing their name were fabulous, the grilled shrimps were underdone. Quality may be hit or miss. Those beats are carrying this rating—never had them so good!

The food was pretty good, but definitely not worth the price. For 4 children & 2 adults, getting only salads, soup, & fries to share, we spent almost $200 (without drinks). The truffle fries were worth the trip, I would come back for just those.

My favorite restaurant in our little town, from the time it opened, all through covid and to this day. Love the fact that it recently upgraded to a larger location that now has a bar. I have ordered most things on the menu and I have yet to have anything that was not absolutely delicious. Get the special, whatever it may be- I bet you will not be disappointed.

Stopped in for lunch on a whim. This place is small a quaint. Service was excellent and food came out fast, hot and delicious. A must try for the fried green tomatoes! The pimento cheese was the best I ever tasted! When I’m back in the area, I will definitely stop again

Great little place. Super good food too! First time visit today. I wasn’t impressed with the menu but my daughter-in-law arrived first and ordered a few things and I was very impressed. Everything I had was superb. As good as I have had anywhere in the world. Definitely recommend! Update 5/1/23 this place is like a dream come true for me. Great food drinks and cozy atmosphere can’t be beat.

We had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Our drinks were perfection and dinner was awesome. We had a classic burger with truffle fries and Korean chicken, all of which were superb. Justin, our server, was amazing and made the evening super special. Thanks to everyone, we will be back!

For you local foodies out there – I recommend you add this to the list! Neat little place with not local flavors.
Started With Truffeld fries ( Gluten Free)
Great start with a sause on the side that brings you back for more.
The loaf – bold flavor with a hit of salt. Comes with grits and fried beans. Great meal and makes you have a home feel.
General Choas – it’s exactly what your thinking but with a classy side to it. Little spicey but can get it grilled or fried or pork.
Got deserts to go. Look great!
Great place good food, great service.

Reservations are HIGHLY recommended.
What a wonderful treat to stumble onto during this walkabout of mine. This quaint, delectable, hole in the wall is perfection. To begin with, the entire town has been well-maintained and is the quintessential historical small town. This meant that the stroll to 1816 set the mood for a lovely dinner. The atmosphere inside was an eclectic mix of historical and modern that came together in a warm and satisfying way.
The menu is quite unique with a variety of GF options. I cannot recommend highly enough, the GF Pork Belly General Tso’s Chicken with Brussel sprout fried rice. The pork belly was crunchy on the outside and the sauce had the perfect kick which was mellowed out by the rice. I ordered an Old Fashioned, which solidified the Old Western feel with a modern kick that I loved so much about the place.
Service was on point and the atmosphere was fantastic. Even the music was catchy with a hint of western. But, don’t take my word for it, go! Check it out for yourself.
