Amazing food. The chefs know what real food is. Fine dining but casual. Excellent service and wait staff. The hostess is lovely. The servers are professional and they don’t allow drinks to sit empty and empty dishes cleared promptly. Everyone works together to provide high quality service. Linen table cloth and real glass. The drinks are good. Ambiance is very nice. There’s multiple dining rooms on different levels. They’ve made the most of the space they have. I’ve dined here more than once and will go back. Parking in their lot is limited due to location, but there’s street parking and a parking lot across the street as well. Definetley recommend.

Normally on Wednesdays, I 69… but this Wednesday, I 174’d. And let me tell you — 174 Buffalo didn’t just feed me; it baptized my taste buds in holy football water.
I walked in for Restaurant Week expecting a casual meal. What I got felt like watching the 2025 Notre Dame Fighting Irish run out of the tunnel in South Bend while “Shipping Up to Boston” played at full volume in my soul.
We started with a Caesar salad. This wasn’t your sad, limp, gas station Caesar. No. This was a Benjamin Morrison pick-six Caesar. Crisp. Bold. Electric. The croutons had the crunch of a linebacker hitting gap A. The dressing? Creamy like Sam Hartman’s hair in a light breeze.
Then came the Pinot — smooth, classy, and frankly more composed than any Ohio State secondary I’ve ever seen. I took a sip and instantly felt like Jordan Faison juking three defenders and moonwalking into the end zone.
The fried deviled eggs arrived next, and I swear these little golden orbs were engineered in a lab by Marcus Freeman himself. Crunchy on the outside, heavenly on the inside. If JD Bertrand had a culinary cousin, this was him: tough exterior, soft heart.
Then the ahi tuna hit the table. Oh, baby. This wasn’t tuna. This was a 70-yard bomb to Jaden Greathouse in primetime. Silky, seared perfection with that “we’re not here to play, we’re here to dominate” energy.
The salmon followed, and it came with the same quiet, confident swagger as Audric Estimé lowering his shoulder into a terrified safety. Moist (yeah, I said it), buttery, and seasoned like it knew it was better than everyone else.
And then… the gnocchi. Or as I now call it: “Notre Dame O-Line pasta.” Pillowy. Fluffy. Melts in your mouth like Joe Alt blocks melt opposing defensive lines. If the O-line had a carb-based spirit animal, this was it.
By the end, I wasn’t just full. I was converted. I was ready to paint my chest gold, storm the field, and petition to make 174 Buffalo the official post-game meal of the Fighting Irish.
In short:
️ Caesar salad – Benjamin Morrison pick-six energy
Pinot – Jordan Faison footwork in a glass
Deviled eggs – JD Bertrand with a golden crust
Tuna – Jaden Greathouse highlight reel
Salmon – Audric Estimé trucking your taste buds
Gnocchi – Joe Alt pancake block in pasta form
If excellence had an address, it’s 174 Buffalo.
This Wednesday, I didn’t 69. I 174’d.
And like Notre Dame in 2025, I left undefeated.

I love the Village of Hamburg, it is so walkable, friendly, and well cared for, and this restaurant reflects this sentiment. The servers were easy to reach, speak to, and ask questions of. Everyone was knowledgeable and skilled, and respected our conversation.

The ambience here is something you have to experience for yourself, but it was so warm and inviting, they outdid themselves with the decor and lighting scheme…no joke we talked about it for the rest of the night.

The cocktails were beautiful and delicious, and there was a broad selection of unique combinations of fruits, vegetables and herbs. You absolutely MUST try the cucumber drink, we will be making those at home in the coming weeks.

Now the food – I will quote another member of my party: “I think that was the best porkchop I have ever had in my life.” As for myself, I have never tasted anything similar to the tofu I had here, and it was just so tasty and unique. The kimchi flavor made me do something I’ve never done before in my life – I went home and ate every last bite of my leftovers that same night!

The presentation of these dishes speak for themselves. It’s been an ongoing and affirming discussion between us regarding how gorgeous these dishes were before they were picked clean. Emphatic compliments to the chef.

Enjoyed this quaint spot. Fun vibe in this busy restaurant. Fun cocktails and good beer selection. The daily entree specials were expansive and delicious. Food came out quickly and hot! Great server…think she’s owns the place.

I have only been here a few times, but I really love what the new owners have done with 174 Buffalo. The food is consistently great, the service is thoughtful, and the overall vibe is just right.

I have been here both with a group of couples and with my husband and kids, and it works well for all of it. The cocktails are well done, there are plenty of appetizers to share, and it is genuinely hard to decide what to order because everything on the menu is delicious. I always enjoy my time here and look forward to coming back.

The deviled egg appetizer was good, but nothing to write home about…the brussel sprout appetizer was okay but quite greasy… The tzatziki pita appetizer was okay, nothing to write home about, the pita was warm and soft, the tzatziki was….meh. The brussel sprouts were browned and the pork belly was not too fatty but we wouldn’t order either again. The burger was decent ,quite charred. the french fries are frozen, not fresh..the fish fry was so soft, great texture, not slimy at all, the batter was extremely airy, light and crisp, very great piece of fish, unfortunately the tartar sauce was rather bland and the only distinguishable flavor of it was salt. . my friend said the tomahawk pork chop with vegetables was fantastic also. The carrot cake was homemade, really great and something we would definitely order again. The cream cheese frosting was so good and the texture was nice and dense, not whipped. Coleslaw was not great, with a vinegary flavor according to my friend. We had dinner on a Wednesday and all of the food came out pretty quickly and the service was great. The restaurant is quite small and cramped. The parking lot for the restaurant is super tiny so if you go on a weekend plan on trying to find parking on the street.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! My husband and I sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The ambiance was excellent, a perfect amount of noise and excellent cocktails. We started with the crispy Brussels sprouts which were out of this world. For dinner I chose the butternut squash soup and beet salad. My husband got the short rib sandwich on Kim me weck. Overall everything was excellent. We WILL be back!

Some great points & some that need improving. GREAT service & aesthetic to start out, but no bread for the table. We got oysters which were fresh, ice cold & perfectly clean, but no cocktail sauce or a spoon or anything to get the mignonette sauce. Our steaks (strip and a ribeye) were cooked medium rare as we requested. But there was no truffle butter flavor on the strip and the Ribeye was SO garlicy it was near off-putting. The potatoes we still pretty raw and hard inside which was a shame because they had great flavor. The asparagus had a nice light char & they were still crisp. So overall, not an awful meal but there could definitely be some tweaks.
