I was more disappointed in the food, lack of flavor and change in ingredients. This is not my first time ordering the moussaka and this time they’ve changed it by adding a lot more spinach and taking away the rest of the ingredients. My partners ribs were okay in flavor and very tough to chew. I will not consider coming back as it has changed not in a good way. I don’t consider the place authentic cuisine.
Before any food arrived we enjoyed complimentary pita bread with cheese, olive and beet spreads.
We started with stuffed grape leaves and grilled calamari appetizers. Both were amazing, and large portions. Unlike other restaurants, where the calamari is served in small rings, here we got three huge grilled calamari. For entrees we got the grilled salmon and whole grilled red snapper. The fish was fresh, perfectly prepared and delicious. For desert we had baklava (nice and light) and vanilla ice cream (three large scoops).
This is not a fancy place, but is tastefully decorated. You get very high quality food in an informal atmosphere. The menu selection is large and the prices are reasonable.
We enjoyed ourselves so much, that we returned two days later on a Saturday night. The place was packed, but not too noisy for us to talk. Our server Chris was excellent, and everything we ordered was spaced just right even though it was a very busy evening. The Greek salad was huge, and the char grilled seafood platter came with a huge piece of octopus, two large grilled calamari, and four large grilled shrimp. Very delicious, and so much food that we took some of it home.
They have a nice tradition here where for someone’s birthday the staff says “Opa” and breaks a plate.
This is a very family friendly restaurant. Lots of children there on Saturday night. There is a spacious parking lot, so even on Saturday night parking was not a problem.
If you enjoy Greek food, this place is a winner. We are planning to make this one of our regular restaurants.
I have past by it 100’s of times.
Finally after all the recommendations from friends, my Neighbors and I finally had dinner there.
We were blown away by the atmosphere first of all, so beautiful and inviting.
The staff made you feel so welcome!
But we are there for the FOOD! And the Drinks.
Top Notch!!!!
Can’t Waite to go back.
Our Neighbors said. This may be our new go to place!
They are right, I don’t think you could have a bad meal there.
Highly recommend!!!
The atmosphere is pleasant and not overwhelming with wonderful lighting to help relax a person and prepare them for a nice meal.
Service is speedy and restaurant staff are attentive. Not long after we were seated we were served with a platter of three tapenades (olive, roasted red pepper and feta, and beets) with pita.
Our server Chris was friendly, yet professional and was able to answer any questions we had about the menu.
My partner had the red snapper with toasted potatoes, tomatoes, olive, artichoke hearts, in a white wine butter sauce with broccoli rabe. I tasted her dish and it was delicious! The fish was cooked properly and not dry, and the white wine butter sauce was delectable.
I had the Lamb shank with orzo in n a tomato sauce. The lamb shank was cooked to perfection with the right amount of spices where one would still tastes the Lamb, and the meat fell right off the bone using a fork…no knife required. The food received a four star rating as the orzo was just okay and did not have a lot of flavor.
Throughout the meal the staff ensured our drink glasses were full and Chris made sure my partner had enough hot water for her tea.
After we were done with the main courses, the owner (Bill) , came to check on us and recommended two “off the menu” desserts; the cheesecake topped with baklava, and the Greek orange cake.
Both desserts are amazing! They have the right amount of flavor and not too sweet. The cheesecake topped with baklava is one of the top two, if not the top dessert I’ve ever had in my life.
We look forward to visiting again to sample their other offerings.
Well done 12 Islands, well done.
I had the steak. It was very well cooked (charred on the outside and perfectly pink on the inside) but the choice of cut wasn’t the best. However, it was a very cheap steak for the size (16oz ribeye for 39$) and I enjoyed it nevertheless.
We also had the soup, salad, jambalaya, salmon in garlic sauce and the meatballs. The jambalaya was especially good.
All in all, I highly recommend this place.
