Reviews
We ordered roti, rice, dal makhani, and paneer bhuna — and every single item was delicious. The roti was fresh and served hot and we ended up ordering round 2, the dal makhani was rich and flavorful with the spice level adjusted exactly to our taste, and the paneer bhuna was a hit. We actually preferred it over the usual butter masala since we enjoy spicier gravies — both the gravy and the paneer were spot-on. The rice was also perfectly cooked and complemented the curries well.
None of the item were oily which was a bonus.
If you’re in Gananoque and craving some good Indian food, I’d definitely recommend this place. What stood out even more was seeing both locals and travelers (many not Indian) really enjoying their meals too — the restaurant’s ability to adjust spice levels makes it a great choice for everyone.
As travelers, we usually stick to simpler dishes when trying new places, especially when relying on online reviews — and this one truly lived up to the ratings. Highly recommend for a satisfying and authentic Indian meal!
Food was okay. Told them to bring out dishes as they were done one by one.
Everything came at once and not at optimal hot temperature.
Daal Tadka and jeera rice were amazing. The shahi paneer was okay and the bhuna lamb was just awful. I think the chef confused the recipe with some sweet curry because it was very sweet and no tasting like bhuna at all.
The prices are really high according to food quality but I guess a tourist place has its “surcharges”.
The server was either on his first day of work or he was nervous about the ongoing issues with the staff. Asked way too many questions.
Overall I would avoid this place next time unless I am absolutely craving Indian food and have no other options.
However, they gave a good dine in space and service. Good presentation of food as well. But not recommended for anyone looking for a good Indian food experience!
Food was absolutely delicious
And in a conversation, we found out that he has a long term history of creating delicious food
Ignore the negative reviews . As a Canadian, who has tried Indian food more than 50 places in Toronto. The food here is pretty amazing. We came in the afternoon and the service was terrific too.
We came here as a family, excited to have a nice meal together, but it turned out to be a complete disaster. The food was absolutely tasteless — every dish felt the same, lacking any freshness or effort. It honestly felt like no thought or care went into preparing the food at all.
What made it even worse was the service. The waiters were rude and unbothered, almost insulting in the way they treated us. Plates were dropped on the table without a word, no smiles, no basic courtesy — just pure disinterest. It was uncomfortable and disappointing to be treated that way, especially after paying such high prices.
The place had no welcoming atmosphere, no good food, and no respect for customers. For what they charge, you’d expect at least decent service or flavorful food — we got neither.
I’d genuinely warn anyone thinking of coming here: don’t waste your time or money. There are plenty of better places that actually care about their food and their customers. We’re NEVER coming back.
