Visited twice. Dinner was very good. Decided to try dim sum the next day for lunch. The dim sum even straight from the kitchen not piping hot, some seems just like warm. I liked cheung fun and the lo mai gai.

This place has changed significantly since the last time we had visited for lunch. We had ordered the orange chicken with fried rice with wonton soup. The soup was good, but warm (not hot). After that, the experience went straight downhill.
Firstly, the chicken was saturated with a honey-sugar glaze that was thick and slimy. It made the chicken uneatable. The broccoli was cold, as if chilled in the refridgerator before being served. Nobody like broccoli cold as ice. Lastly, we had ordered the fried rice. It was nothing like other photos from past reviews. It looked like plain white rice with a fried egg mixed in. It was bland and tasteless.
Service was impersonal and lacked any eye contact. In fact, when the server was handing me the bill, she was literally looking across the room while aimlessly reaching out her arm with the bill.
The food is sub-standard and is not like it once was. Needless to say, we will not go back.

We adore Lam’s Kitchen! The food is fantastic and the portions are very generous. We have the most fun when we go in a group and share entrees-everyone gets to experience a variety of menu options that way, and Lam’s has never disappointed. Love the lamb with shallots, salt & pepper fish, sweet & sour chicken, and many of the pork dishes. Food is fresh and very flavorful. Highly recommend!

Lam’s Kitchen is a hidden gem in Matthews! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Their General Tso’s chicken is crispy and delicious, and the lo mein is some of the best I’ve had. The staff is friendly, quick, and always gets the order right, whether dining in or taking out. Great portion sizes and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend if you’re craving quality Chinese food in the area!

This place has a unique Live Fish option. The food was good, and the cocktails were okay. Nothing outstanding, though. They also have private rooms for large groups, which is great with kids.

The food is amazing. Really well done menu! Large but it offers everything you’d want. And the portions are shareable. Nothing was overcooked and the flavors were better than expected. The service was a bit slow and chaotic at times. Most dishes didn’t come at the same time for everyone. Reservations are welcome. Overall, I’ll choose here again for Chines food.

I cannot speak to the many other items on the menu, however I would emphatically advise you against ordering the dungeness crab. Having lived in the Pacific Northwest, I am very familiar with this crab which is generally loaded with meat and very flavorful. The ginger sauce was delicious, however it was basically sauce over a bunch of shells. There was excruciatingly little meat to be found, and what I could find was stringy. There is no price on the menu (per pound I assume) so I had sticker shock when I received a $61 bill for a couple of bites of crab. The shrimp dim sum was good but overpriced at $9 for 4 pieces. The bowl of rice which was cold and dry, did not appear to be fresh. After a $75 lunch bill, I left hungry and sorely disappointed.

Went here on Easter Sunday and they had a line out the door at opening time. This restaurant is insanely busy so I highly recommend making reservations in advance. They have a full bar and a private room for bigger parties that require a $100 deposit and spending a minimum of $400. Our waitress was the sweetest lady and provided us with the best service. The food was delicious, and they also had dim sum which was a bonus for us. I recommend this restaurant for a great dining experience.

Lam is the jam! Great flavors and quality food. Several steps above the average take-out. Ate here in 2020, we ordered several different items to try them out. There wasn’t anything we received that was sub par. The wontons are awesome, Singapore Noodle is one of my favorites and the Chow Fun is also delicious. Ask for chili oil. Great place to eat. Good people.
