This is absolutely delicious! I’m not a shill. The bullfrogs and soft-shelled turtles are freshly killed, you can taste the difference immediately. The pork intestines and fish head are also very tender. Highly recommended! And they don’t close at lunchtime, haha, that’s amazing! The people in the restaurant are all so nice and friendly.

This Hunan home-style restaurant recently opened in LA, and I’ve been there several times. The dishes are consistently delicious with a wonderful wok hei (wok aroma), and they offer different levels of spiciness, making it suitable even for those who can’t handle too much heat. The owner is warm and attentive. It’s rare to find braised fish chunks without any muddy taste abroad, which is a big plus. I always order the dry-pot cabbage, which is stir-fried with cured pork and pickled peppers for a rich flavor. Also, the stir-fried braised beef with garlic leaves is a dish I’ve enjoyed since childhood; the beef is a good mix of lean and tendon, very chewy. Every dish is great with rice. Their stir-fried chicken is also delicious. This will be my go-to place from now on!

I tried this newly opened Hunan cuisine restaurant on my way to run some errands this afternoon and ordered braised fish roe. The fish roe and fish maw tasted terrible and didn’t match the dish’s name at all. After complaining to the owner, I received no response or explanation, and they just took the money and packed it up. As a new restaurant, I hope they will pay more attention to the quality of their food and customer feedback. I will not be coming back!
