An authentic Chinese BBQ spot with delicious food and outstanding service. Our food came out incredibly fast, and the staff were so friendly. If you’re looking for tasty food and great service, this is the right place. We had cumin lamb, spicy eggplant, stir fried green beans and grilled cauliflowers.. will definitely be back for more grilled stuff

Came for a late dinner on a Friday night. It was busy, but we were seated right away. The restaurant smells like the grill (a positive) just be aware you’ll probably leave smelling like it too.

Ordered off the regular and grill menus:

F51 Fish with Pickled Greens – Generous portion of meaty fish, strong mala spice (spicy but not extreme), slightly oily. Comes with glass noodles and mushrooms, which were a bit lacking in taste and texture.

H22 Lamb x 6 (skewers) – Smoky, cumin-forward, good cuts of lamb (little fat), tender. A bit pricey for the amount you get, but the cook was perfect—worth it.

Will be back to try more of the grill items. It looked like that was the way to go, as most tables had skewers.

We ordered the salt and pepper tofu, stir fry bok choy, cumin lamb and skewers (pig intestines, potato, squid and lamb). The seasoning for the skewers seem to be similar but overall it was flavorful. They had a malfunction in their rice cooker and could not bring us rice. However the lady boss went out of her way to get rice for us and even gave us buns on the house. We were very appreciative of that. Overall I would come back again and recommend this restaurant to others.

This is our second time coming here. We tried skewers the first time and it’s a solid yes! I’m from northeastern China and the skewers are exactly what I had in hometown. Pork trotters and beef tendons are both must tries. This time we had Mala combination, spicy cabbage, and shredded pork in garlic sauce. All of them were delicious, especially the Mala combination. Very flavorful. The owner is very passionate and friendly, making dining here a very pleasant experience 🙂

A few dishes were good, but others were disappointing. Overall, I would come back one more time, and if it is still just OK, then it is definitely not worth your time to give it a try.

Lamb skewers: 1/10. I grew up in Beijing, and lamb skewers are the most common street food made by Muslim minorities. These barely had any seasonings, were bad cuts of meat, chewy and dry. The best I had in Austin was Chen’s noodles years back.

Meat bao: 8/10, They are good and typical Chinese Bao at $3 a piece.

Crispy chicken: 10/10, this dish was recommended by my server, and it is very crispy and delicious (leftover was gone the same night). I’m comparing it to Asia Cafe, Hunan Bistro, and Bamboo Garden.

The pork dish was too oily for me and really not to my liking.

Northern Chinese style skewers, specifically from Jinzhou, a city in Liaoning China famous for their skewer bbq culture (think Lockhart Texas BBQ equivalent). Small skewers with small bites of food. Tasty and juicy. Even the gizzards are sliced into thin slices compared to other places that put a whole gizzard onto a skewer.
The taste is perfect and it’s the taste of home for me. For anyone else, to try it is a must.
You don’t come here for the service, nor for the atmosphere (it’s not a rowdy bar nor elegant restaurant.) You come here for the comfort of good food with good company.
Can’t recommend enough

Very friendly and warm service. More importantly, the food is great! Best Chinese BBQ in Austin and Dallas! The BBQ is of great ingredients and seasoning, with perfect bbq smoke flavor. I also enjoy the pork bun as well!

I only like to review restaurants that are worthy of five stars. This is new restaurant that is starting off great. Everything was fantastic except for the cucumber salad. Maybe the cucumber was just bitter.
