My husband and I have come to Zzan Downtown multiple times, and since we usually arrive right after it opens, we have never had any trouble getting seats. Even though the menu does not specifically list vegan items, the Seaweed Salad, Veggie Roll, Veggie Yakisoba, and Veggie Ramen are all vegan with no modifications needed. I still recommend confirming when you order, just in case ingredients change over time. I have tried all of these and loved them, and the Veggie Ramen is definitely my favorite.
My husband, who is not vegan, always enjoys his meals here too. What really sets this place apart for me is the vibe. The fun Korean atmosphere with K Pop and other videos playing on the TVs makes it lively and entertaining without being too loud. The servers are always friendly and great as well.
I highly recommend this spot!

We found this place on Yelp, and it was about a 10-minute walk from our hotel. We felt very safe walking to Zzan late at night. The menu featured a typical selection of Korean dishes and sushi. The atmosphere was lively, and the waitstaff were attentive. We ordered tempura, sushi, sashimi, and fried chicken wings, all of which were good in both taste and presentation.

It was an overall good experience. Service was a little slow but not bad by any means. They were busy. Food was tasty. I got the golden California rolls and spicy seafood ramen (when they say seafood they darn near threw the entire ocean in lmao). Had a cab and hot sake to drink. My main complaint is new liquor. I’m shocked that a Japanese bar doesn’t have Japanese whiskey. Overall 8 out of 10 experience

The food was on point and well-presented. Ordered the Salmon Lover and Pork Dumplings as an appetizer. Both were delicious. The Salmon Lover had just the right amount of spice and great flavor, and the dumplings were amazing, especially with the sauce. For my entrée, I tried the Dubu Kimchi, which I never had before, and it was incredible. The flavors were perfectly balanced and so satisfying. The spice adds up so get a bowl of rice to accompany it! Will definitely be back!

Me and my partner moved from Seattle to San Diego recently and back home we had our little go to restaurant that we would go to for classic Korean food or just a great time in general with endless shots of soju and great service. We found the exact same amazing hospitality, food and service here at Zzan. The food is exceptionally flavorful and the sushi is so fresh (I’m super picky about sushi quality) the drinks are also a plus! For anybody who is in the downtown area or outside of downtown I highly recommend coming Zzan to have a great meal and overall just a good time! ❤️

We came here after a musical about an hour before closing and were warmly welcomed. The staff served us with genuine smiles and never made us feel rushed even though it was late. The food was excellent and some of the freshest sushi I’ve had. I will definitely be coming back.

Amazing little Korean spot downtown. The only thing I missed was the Cass. (IYKYK) They have TV’s but the sound comes from the Kpop channel so you’re definitely getting a modern Korean experience.
The food is awesome. They miss some traditional standbys, but they have a great selection of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes that are Korean and Korean inspired.
Finally, despite the dig at the start, they do have quite the selection of alcohol. This place will be going on our list of places to bring friends!

Had lunch to-go today (12/1) and after getting back to my office and eating a large portion of the bulgogi bowl, I noticed what looked like insect eggs in the rice. Had to double check that they weren’t sesame seeds but no, definitely eggs from an insect. Won’t be back anytime soon.

Delicious food, excellent service, and great vibes! The garlic edamame was perfectly seasoned, the stir-fry was flavorful with fresh veggies and tender chicken, and the sushi roll was fresh and satisfying. Our server was attentive and friendly, which really made the experience stand out. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!
