Our drinks were incredible. The crab guacamole was absolutely amazing but the freshly made chips (extremely good) kept breaking. LOL
The entrees, shrimp and grits and blackened grouper were full of flavor and fabulous prepared! The presentation of the dishes for eye-popping of color. The raspberry bread pudding with white chocolate was incredible! My wife was blown away with the texture and flavor.
Jessica, our server, guided us both through the entire dinner. Her suggestions paid off.
Now the things that need improvement. We sat in the enclosed patio which lacked enough AC. They had portable units but they lacked ability to cool the room effectively. I would suggest shades to block the sun.
We had a very wonderful experience tonight. We plan on going back but we’ll sit in the dining room.
As a culinary major, I truly appreciated the thought, flavor, and presentation in every dish. The food was more than just delicious, It was a full culinary experience I won’t forget. We’ll definitely be back!
I grabbed a seat at the bar, which was cozy and comfortable for solo dining. Kicked things off with a couple of cocktails, and both blew me away—complex, well-crafted, and memorable.
For the appetizer, I went with the charred cauliflower, and it was divine. The romesco sauce was the real MVP—bold, flavorful, and the perfect match for a vegetable that usually leans bland. It was so good I actually tried to recreate it at home… didn’t come close.
For the main, I had the shrimp and grits, and they were nothing short of exceptional—rich, savory, and deeply satisfying.
Whether you’re a first-timer or a local, this spot deserves your attention. If Zuzul were located in any of the country’s foodie hotspots, it’d be racking up awards.
First let me start by saying this place is a diamond in the rough (Shreveport)! From the ambience, to the food, the drinks and hands down probably one of the best dining service experiences we have encountered in a long time.
To start we had the shrimp ceviche, it was so fresh and full of flavor- served with tortilla chips, our taste buds were in heaven.
I had the Oaxacan from the cocktail menu which is a mezcal old fashioned type of drink- the smoky notes of the mezcal really came through and worked deliciously in this drink- definitely recommend to the old fashioned fans.
For the main course, my husband had the 60 day aged ribeye, I had the pistachio crusted fresh catch, which was halibut the evening we were there. We were both blown away by how perfect and flavorful everything on our plate were, it was hard to not eat every last bite because it was just so so delicious. Literally perfect
Upon bringing our check, our waitress wished us happy anniversary, and left us a gift- a chocolate soufflé tart – omg, it was rich, silky smooth, not too overly sweet, and was topped with fresh whipped cream. We both thought that was a really thoughtful (and omg delicious) touch.
Last but not least our waitress was phenomenal, she was attentive, personable, knowledgeable, and we never felt rushed- she genuinely seemed to enjoy what she does, and was happy to answer any questions we had- which makes for a beautiful and refreshing dining experience.
If I could give 10 stars I would, we thoroughly enjoyed our the entire dining experience, and we can’t wait for the next special occasion so we can treat ourselves again!
