Great local, family-owned business. The Jäger schnitzel was excellent, and the desserts were on point. You’ve got to try the house salad dressing. Give this authentic German restaurant a try—it has a family-friendly atmosphere and is definitely worth visiting.

I overheard about this place through a conversation and had to try it at the very next day! Made reservations online, we were an hour away, we took the beautiful drive from West. Well worth the drive and we would do it all over again and plan on it!
We were about 10 minutes behind because of construction on the road and she still took us in which we really appreciate. Such a quaint beautiful Little hidden gem out in a cow pasture off the highway in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful view! There’s even a table outside if you’d like to enjoy the scenery while eating your delicious food. Inside it felt like little Germany even the bathroom felt like I was in Germany. The music playing, the lovely owner of the restaurant waiting on us, and cooking specifically for us felt like we were in our German grandma’s home. If you really enjoy authentic German food this is your spot! We will be back again thank you so much for a great wholesome experience and delicious authentic homemade food! Thank you for bringing this to us! Many many blessings to you!

We finally got to try this quaint restaurant. The owner was very nice and the food was authentic and delicious German fare. The desserts we had were incredible. We will definitely go again.
A couple of quick notes: reservations are required. There are only about 28 seats. The menu specifies that there is a $4 charge if you share your plate, so a previous post that claimed they didn’t know about the charge was not being honest.
If you are in the area, you don’t want to miss gem!

Quaint little restaurant just outside of Meridian. A one woman operation. Great authentic German food. Reservations are required as space and manpower is limited. Reservations can be made online or by phone. A must try when in the area.

Such a cool restaurant! This is the type of place you dream of finding and telling your friends about!

Practically in the middle of nowhere, Zur Autobahn is a unique spot and a must-visit. The interior is decorated with automotive memorabilia and car show awards (making this place extra cool for a gearhead like me) and family owned and operated.

The first page of the menu tells a great story about how the owners had an automotive company in Germany but Conny always dreamed of opening a restaurant. When they moved to Texas they made the dream a reality!

Great homemade German food awaits you here and it’s BYOB if you’d like to bring something alcoholic.

Stop in if you’re in the area or make take a road trip out there (pretty country-side all around). A great and unique experience awaits!

Delicious and authentic German meal in the Texas hill country. Lovely place with lots of European touches down to the doors and windows! Food was great and perfectly prepared. We had the Jaeger Schnitzel and Schnitzel/Bratwurst. A cozy place to get your German fix.

A real mom and pop place, literally. Great food, all made from scratch. I recommend making a reservation, otherwise if you get there right after someone you might wait a while to eat.

Super nice owner. Connie was super nice when I stopped by on my 130 mile gravel cycling ride. Place looks spotless and very German in the middle Texas country side. I will make sure to get there for a meal one of those days. I know I did not eat – but I got the feeling right away that the pace is nice. Thank you Connie for letting me get some water.
