Wonderful and inventive restaurant. Consistently excellent every time I go. The couple that own the place are exceedingly cordial and understand high quality food and service. Decor is also charming. Highly recommend.

A hidden gem in Lexington. Cozy seating, warm atmosphere, open kitchen. The staff are always so friendly. The place doesn’t get too noisy or crowded. Now the food- I love the shareable gourmet bites they offer. They source their ingredients locally. Presentation is outstanding- they truly follow the idea that you eat with your eyes first. I took a bite of their recent Tuna appetizer and lost my train of thought. With my review, I’ll leave some pictures of the past few visits. The crab and lobster cakes pictured were AMAZING. The truffles are handmade in small batches, and a pleasant surprise at the end of a good meal. Don’t pass this place up if you’re passing through!

I was delighted tonight to have dinner at ZunZun in Lexington, VA! It is in the same location as a restaurant that I loved, but closed a few years ago. Now, the core team from that former restaurant are back with a concept that meets, and even exceeds, what I loved before.
Exceptional food served in an intimate setting by owner/operators who clearly love what they do and who care that their guests enjoy their meal is a special experience. ZunZun is that place.
The menu is deliberately limited – a restaurant as small as ZunZun can only make a few things well, and they only do things that they can do very, very well.
My wife and I both loved our evening at ZunZun, and we think anyone else who enjoys excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere will, too. I have a new favorite restaurant east of the Mississippi River – and it happens to be in the exact same building as my old favorite!

I have had the pleasure of dining at Zun Zun several times And each time has been better than the last! The atmosphere and owners are warm and welcoming, the service is very attentive, the food is absolutely delicious and the cocktails are amazing!! I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants an elevated dining experience in Lexington!!!

My daughter and I ate at ZunZun last night and honestly loved it. It’s in the old RedHen spot, but it feels like its own thing right away. The menu is really interesting without trying too hard — just great food made with awesome local ingredients, and you can tell they care about doing it right.
The place is small and cozy, and it’s the kind of spot that makes it easy to slow down, enjoy your meal, and have good conversation and real fellowship. And the owner is just a genuinely good guy — hands-on, welcoming, and clearly putting his heart into the food and into taking care of his team. I always like supporting places like that.
If you’re someone who loves good food and pays attention to ingredients and where they come from (MAHA folks like me included), this place is a win. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Great food in a relaxed atmosphere from an established local chef.
We’ve been several times this year, and it’s one of favorite “night out” spots in the area. Recently we came with some friends and ordered everything on the menu except one dish, which the chef brought out for us to try on the house, and we really loved it all.
The atmosphere is more casual than the previous restaurant that was in this location, but the food is as creative and well prepared, and the more frequent menu changes make it interesting to return on a regular basis.
In terms of prices, it’s in line with established “new American” and other fine dining restaurants in town, a bit above the local pubs but not too expensive.
I’ve lived in the area for years, and this is a great addition to the town. I can understand the people who earnestly debate which restaurants in town to rank as either 4 stars or 5 in relation to others in town, but the handful of one star reviews of this place that lower the average are spam attacks with an agenda.

Zunzun is the IT spot for me in Lexington. The decor is hip, intimate, fun, and welcoming. The staff is courteous, and friendly. The menu is inviting, and interesting. I had fresh tuna tacos and duck fat French fries. Serious yum! The cocktails are signature and upscale, yet, accessible and delicious. Yep, Zunzun is what I’ve been waiting for
