Was a busy night with a very large party in back room. They were honest about the possible delay of food from the kitchen; no problems. Cocktails were very good. Our waiter, Cody, took time to make recommendations and we had the appetizer special, minestrone soup & salad and Zozo’s chicken. Salads served on cold plates that were still cold after I finished. Pasta served with a spoon so I could get every last drop; and cooked a perfect Al dente. I found the service to be really good, especially considering how busy they were with a large party in the back we’ll be back…

Did a last-minute reservation an hour before and got a spot for Valentine’s Day. My fiancée and I had their 4 course special. Everything was so good, from the appetizers to the main dish (lamb). The strawberry New York cheesecake was a good compliment.

First off this is such a lovely and cozy restaurant. I hadn’t been here in about 10 years and this place didn’t disappoint! All of the staff members were so friendly and inviting! Our server Cody was beyond wonderful and made our experience 10/10. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, appetizers, and main dishes. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend coming here!! P.s I LOVE the fact that they have multiple vegetarian options!!!

After a day of 100 deg, we headed to one restaurant but spotted Zozo’s with tables outside all set with tablecloths, napkins and bud vase welcoming us. Temps were decreasing so we settled in for a quiet meal. Staff friendly, attentive and quick. Meals nicely prepared and presented especially the Grilled Prawn Picatta. Every time door opened the noise level inside was a bit overwhelming. Glad we chose outside.

My wife and I have been eating at Zozo’s for over 20 years. We had even gotten to know the previous owners and some of the staff. To me, one of the indications of a really good and well run restaurant is staff turnover. Restaurant work is hard work and staff turnover is an issue for almost every restaurant. When you see many of the same people working at the same place for many years, that place is doing it right. Taking care of their customers and good care of their staff. So when the previous owners told us they were selling the business, we were sad to see them leaving and worried about what would happen to one of our favorite restaurants. I am pleased to say that the quality of the food is still excellent and the prices on the menu do not appear to have been changed. My wife had her usual mushroom ravioli and chicken. I had the ribsteak special with horseradish mashed potatoes. My wife said that her ravioli was as good as ever, maybe even a bit better. My steak came out more on the medium side of medium rare. It was still tender and had a good flavor. I would have liked a bit more horseradish in the potatoes. The tiramisu is still the best in town. I don’t know if the back of the house has changed, but it’s still doing a good job with the food. It is the front of the house that seems to have had the most change. We called and made reservations. I know that even a weeknight can still be busy. The hostess could not find our reservation. She asked if we knew who we talked to. We did not. She left for a few minutes, came back and took us to a table. I think the young man that was our waiter has minimal dinner house experience. We had to ask about the dinner specials and for the bottle of wine we ordered to be brought out. Overall, I rate the service as adequate were it previously was excellent. We did not recognize anyone up front. Maybe it was a night off for the experienced staff? I hope so. They have opened up a room that was previously only used for large groups for more regular seating. Nice to have more tables available. On the downside, there was a lot of background noise making it difficult to have a quiet conversation. I admit that we had become more than a little spoiled. Knowing the owners and some of the staff. But one of the previous owners was always there greeting every guest as they came in. Was the hostess that greeted us an owner? I don’t know. I guess if we see her again the next time we go there, maybe we will ask. In my humble opinion, from having worked in restaurants in my youth, the difference between a successful fine dinner house and just another restaurant that changes hands every few years before it goes away, is how involved the owners are. For an owner that stays in the office, it’s just a business. For an owner that is out front and/or working in the back every night, it is a passion. I am old enough that I am starting to not like change. I also understand that, as wiser people than I have said, change is the only constant in the universe. We will keep going to Zozo’s, watching for changes (hopefully for the better) and still recommend then. Maybe not for an intimate quiet night out, but certainly for good food.

Zozo’s was able to accommodate my party of 27 people very comfortably. Everything about their service was top notch, from their great communication by email to the dinner itself. They sat us in a separate room which was very spacious and quiet, and the food was absolutely amazing. I will definitely come back here again next time I’m in Reno!

If you’ve read my pass reviews, you know that I’m on point when I write them. This my friends, is no exception. This little hidden gem is absolutely the best Italian restaurante in Reno, take my word for it. The staff is absolutely genuine when it comes to your visit. The food is outstanding, very generous portions and being part Sicilian, the food almost tastes just like Nana’s. If you’re in Reno, this is a must try.

Quaint setting despite being in a small strip mall, and as always the service is attentive and the food outstanding. Great garlic bread, minestrone, and Cesar salad and the Cajun pasta was delicious. Don’t miss this place. It’s as good as it was 15 years ago.
