Decided to try something new and just happened to find this place on Google. I’ve driven past it so many times and didn’t even know it was there!
Service was great, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was nice. We ordered the Carne Asada Fries & Shrimp Empanadas as appetizers, plus you get complimentary chips & salsa – the portion sizes were actually quite large for three people to share (IMO you definitely get your money’s worth). For our main entrees, we ordered the Carne Asada plate, Birria Tacos and Seafood Rice which were all filling and delicious. For dessert, we shared a Tres Leches and it was SO GOOD — not too sweet at all. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing; not too heavy, yet very flavorful. We dined right when they opened at 11am so we were seated right away and the ambience felt upscale but not intimidating at all; our server was also attentive. ZOUKMAYA is definitely great place to have lunch; great experience and great food! Highly recommend!

Really impressed with this place. The combo plates give you a little bit of everything, and everything tastes fresh and authentic. The street corn and queso are absolute standouts—so good I could order them alone. Especially enjoyed their tres leches cake. Highly recommend! I like the atmosphere as well!

Loved it, food was great, cocktails are very nice. Mayan old fashioned came smoked, the witchada was refreshing. T-bone was pretty big from the brunch menu. Salsa for the chips was light with a heat like medium pace salsa. Portions are large. Giant cheese cake is around 3.5 inches tall and 4 inches or so long.

Beautiful restaurant. The drinks were good. The food was okay; not the best we’ve had in the cities. The service was good. It’s a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous patio overlooking the lake.

I found this place using Google search. What a gem! The location is great, with a lovely view of Forest Lake. I love the Mayan decor, it’s even on the servers’ uniforms. The food was excellent, from the homemade salsa for the chips to the watermelon margarita and the Mahi Mahi fish tacos. My favorite, however, was the homemade virgin horchata with chocolate and a shot of espresso (see the video)! Most everything is homemade. Highly recommended!

The loaded fries is great. Nicely cooked fries and definitely loaded with flavor
From the tostados combo. The mini flautas were a bit bland but still good. It had very crispy outside and the chicken was very moist still. The birria taco was really good, flavorful and punchy and slightly spicy. Very tender asada on the tostados but still on the bland side especially after the birria. All definitely messy but worth it.
From the 3 street tacos, mexico style (just cilantroand onion). The shredded beef was a bit bland but still very tender. The pastor was very juicy and very flavorful, no pineapple which is good for some people. The carnitas were a bit dry with flavor intensity somewhere between the other 2.
Not a big fan of the rice. The beans are very flavorful and a little spicy. Combined they are good though.

5 stars all around. Food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. Seasonal specials are great and the atmosphere is phenomenal. I personally think their black beans are the best I’ve ever had. They are a bold flavor that just hits on a different level.

Can’t wait to come here again! Stopped for a quick snack – everything was delicious; cucumber margarita, carne asada quesadilla, roasted street corn and tres leches. Reminds me of the old Chino Latino that was in Minneapolis.

My husband set up a birthday party for me through their catering/event service. Anna was our point of contact – we could not have been more pleased! The food, service, and atmosphere were top notch. My friends are still talking about how wonderful the experience was. They have customers for life in us now. Can’t say enough about how well taken care of we were.

Great wedding event on the top floor of this establishment. The saxophone player was incredible. The staff were very friendly. Lots of parking. The bottleneck for food delivery is the dumbwaiter. Recommend the owner read the book “The Goal”. Food delivery was clearly a constraint. Good news, at our event the drinks were free. Nice
