So my fiancée and I were flying from Toronto to Tokyo but with a connecting flight through Chicago.

This cafe was located inside the terminal near our gate flying to Haneda.

I wasn’t hungry so I didn’t get anything, my partner on the other hand ordered a turkey sandwich. She got pickles, real deli mustard and the standard condiments (lettuce, tomatoes, etc) on her sandwich.

Personally for the price I paid, I thought they could’ve put more turkey in the bun but taste-wise, it was solid, according to her. As far as sandwiches go, I thought it was around a 3 but she thought it deserved 4 stars because the pickles were super tasty and the mustard was that real deli mustard, not the processed yellow stuff.

I got chicken enchilada soup here. It was decent, my expectations were fairly low. The soup was very thick and came with saltine crackers. It was pretty bland but there was some flavor in the soup.

Good food. Opens early. Sandwiches are great. Drinks selection is excellent.

Got a decent toasted turkey sandwich for a relatively fair price (considering its airport food). It tasted pretty good but it completely fell apart 3 bites in so I had to finish it with a fork. Even though it was very early morning, the staff were energetic and friendly, which was awesome.

I ordered a Portabello Mushroom sandwich which cost around $10. There were three people manning the restaurant – One taking orders and on the front end of the toaster, one on the back end of the toaster receiving the sandwiches after they were bakes and one person at the register. The employee taking orders was very grumpy and did not smile at all. She talked in a rude tone to the customer ordering after me. Nevertheless, the sandwich was made pretty fast and tasted good. The Portabello Mushroom sandwich comes with sun dried tomatoes, regular tomatoes, lettuce, olives and portobello mushroom. There are two choices for bread – Standard sub or on grain bread.

TLDR: Food Poisoning

My wife and I grabbed a chicken quesadilla and a chicken sandwich during our layover yesterday. My daughter and I had a few bites of the quesadilla because the chicken was mushy. My wife found her sandwich the same, but was hungry and kept eating.

By the end of the flight, my daughter and wife had thrown up multiple times, and my wife and I are still feeling the effects with bubble guts a day later

Do NOT eat here!

Food poisoning. Ordered a sausage egg and cheese croissant and a latte. Worse latte I’ve had in a while. It was basically just milk, no espresso flavor. The egg in the croissant was worse than a McDonald’s breakfast egg, obviously microwaved. The sausage was super bland. Really wish I would have eaten anywhere else because I got food poisoning from this breakfast.

Very sour tasting, likely under extracted espresso. A typical super-automatic commercial do-it all machine. Intelligentsia coffee is served, the “black cat” espresso roast, which I can’t honestly comment on due to poor shot quality.
Staff was friendly and efficient.

Disclaimer: No one should have high expectations for airport espresso from an automatic machine; but it was nearby and I needed a boost. “Food” rating reflective of espresso, as that is my main review focus. Bagel was typical, 3 of 5 stars “average”.
I did overhear that the machine was “recently calibrated”, which did make me a little hopeful.

Maybe I’m the fool for ordering an iced latte at a place like this, but maybe they shouldn’t have it on the menu. Tastes like a cup of iced milk that got coffee near it. The everything bagel was chewy in a bad way. The workers seemed disorganized and didn’t have any way of matching up the customer to the order. Payment happened at the counter far away from where I ordered, and nobody even asked for payment until I got the second item (so a nefarious person could have left without paying for the food).

This place is an embarrassment. There’s barely any meat or egg in their croissants and the croissants are huge. The iced americano is just ice and barely anything else. Waste of money. Cashier was rude and rushing everyone out of the way. Don’t even attempt to go here. Walk a few more steps and eat at billy goat. So much better
