Zona Cantina is a decent spot with a good atmosphere, but unfortunately, the food didn’t quite deliver during my visit, leading to a mixed experience.
We started with a Happy Hour Margarita, which was a nice, refreshing way to kick off the meal.
For the appetizers and mains, we ordered the Birria Eggrolls, Guac and Chips, and the Asada Loaded Fries. Honestly, the food was just okay. While everything was fresh and the portions were good, there were no real flavor bombs in what I tried. The dishes lacked the punch and seasoning I look for in modern Mexican cuisine. Everything felt a bit muted and didn’t leave a lasting impression.
However, the reason this review stays at three stars (and not lower) is entirely due to the service. Our server, Jade, was an absolute delight. She was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience enjoyable, despite the mediocre food.
Overall, it’s a fine place for drinks and maybe the atmosphere, but the kitchen needs to step up the flavor profile of its popular items. A solid three stars for the drinks and the wonderful staff!

Our first visit here and we were highly impressed! The food was amazing. Wife had Diablo Shrimp and I have the beef short rib enchiladas. Probably some of the best tasting enchiladas I’ve had and presentation was outstanding! It was packed so we sat at the bar, but had excellent service. The outside patio was beautiful and heaters seemed to keep everyone warm on the chilly Arizona evening.
I will admit we were hesitant about coming because all other restaurants here have failed, but they are legit and we’ll be regulars!
Pricing was good and large portions. Good happy hour specials throughout the week, as well.

We came into Zona honestly having a pretty rough night, and I did not expect it to turn around the way it did — but Melissa completely changed everything for us.
She was absolutely incredible. Hilarious, genuine, accommodating, quick, and so efficient. She didn’t just “serve” us — she lifted our entire mood. Her energy was contagious, and she made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. It’s rare to meet someone who can read the room the way she does and turn a stressful evening into a happy, relaxed, good-vibes family night.
And the food? AMAZING. Not a single complaint. Everything came out delicious, fresh, and exactly how we hoped it would be.
I also have to give a huge shoutout to the young man running the food that night. He joined in on my toddler’s little freeze dance game as he walked by, and that small, sweet moment meant so much to us. It made the whole experience feel magical and personal. He didn’t have to do that — but he did — and it shows the kind of team Zona has.
Because of Melissa, the food runner, and the incredible food, our horrible night turned into one of the best family evenings we’ve had in a while. We left in the best moods, smiling and so grateful.
Zona — please recognize these two. They are absolute gems. We will definitely be back!

Delicious food. Great atmosphere. We will be back to try the quesabirria. We ordered the Chicken tings tacos,short rib enchiladas, and chicken enchiladas. Plus an appetizer my husband says was called Birria egg rolls. That was my favorite. Our server Briana was friendly and efficient. Can’t wait to try some more menu items. They all look delicious!

We walked in on a very busy holiday week it was super busy’ it was our first time. As a past server , i notice that we were sat at the same time as all the tables around us. Our sever christine did amazing despite how busy she was. She told us bout the taco tuesd specials and although our bar drinks took a bit we saw she was constantly looking checking bar . She suggested great tacos and amazing enchiladas. She was very busy but treated all her tables as a big set and never missed a beat. For great service and good food we recommend despite a but wait for food .

Went here with the girls for lunch. Was welcomed with a woman who opened the door for us. That was a nice surprise! Waitress was attentive and food was amazing. Didn’t take very long to get it. Everything we had was very good. We got about 5 apps and all 6 of us got our own meals. definitely coming back! Also wanted add that the food presentation was beautiful!

Unique flavors await at this newish addition to the corner of GF and Warner. The short rib enchiladas are a must try. It is the perfect balance of the savory from the short ribs and the sophisticated flavors and heat and spices. Perfectly paired with a couple of spice rimmed house margs. A perfect meal.

Finally this building found its forever restaurant! The food was absolutely incredible. The habanero pork ribs were a highlight for me, and my wife had the short rib enchilada—she immediately told me we’re coming back next week. We started with the birria eggrolls and they were excellent.
Our server, Nataly, was amazing—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere is great, and the outdoor patio was the perfect spot to hang out, watch Monday Night Football, and enjoy time with my family.

My husband and I went here on a whim and it was the best decision of the day. We each got the trio of tacos. He had the Korean BBQ and I had the street chicken tinga. They do not skimp on the meat and the sauces are really good. (I was partial to mine though). We also ordered a side of fries to share which were nothing short of amazing. Our server was attentive, but also let us have some space to enjoy our time. We sat outside since the weather was nice – my only negative thing to say was the chairs were not comfortable for the way I sit, but I was able to find a way to make it manageable. There was not a long wait for the food either. We will be back again to see what other tasty items on the menu speak to us.

We are so happy to finally have an amazing Mexican restaurant steps away from our home. The food is super delicious and we haven’t had the same item twice since coming. The staff is top notch, Tony is one of the bartenders and we had the pleasure to have him as our waiter. I would rate the staff a 12 out 10. This place has become one of our favorite restaurants. Everyone should give it a try! making a reservation is recommended as they can get very busy.
