Had to check this hidden gem in New Castle Delaware. Definitely a great spot to have a nice meal. The ambiance is amazing and the owner’s were phenomenal. Marc and Q were just fantastic, they were very attentive and just beautiful people. They showed us around and gave us the history behind the business. The food was delicious and the drinks were fantastic. This is definitely a beautiful spot and they do have jazz during dinner time. I definitely recommend this place and we will be back

My wife and I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. We looked on google and found Zollies. Well I must say we made a great choice. The food was delicious. My wife had the catfish over cornbread and black eyed peas, and I had the pork chop over wild rice and to finish the meal we had the lemon pound cake with fruit and ice cream☺️☺️☺️

We were visiting New Castle and wanted to try some local restaurants. Zollie was recommended to us by a local resident. We went on a Saturday evening, and there was a musician playing near the front door while we had dinner, which added a nice touch to the atmosphere. Note that they add a $2 stipend per person to the bill when they have live music.
We ordered a basket of Zollie’s Sweet & Spicy Cornbread, the empanadas, and the Branzino Escovitch. The service was friendly and quick.
The portion of cornbread was generous, but it was dry. I wouldn’t order this dish again.
I really liked the fruit salsa that came with the empanadas, even though the dish itself was a bit too spicy for me and could’ve used more pork belly.
The grilled branzino was delicious, and the pickled shaved carrot and beet balanced out the richness of the fish perfectly. Highly recommend!

I was honestly nervous because of the bad reviews I’d seen, but the staff turned out to be lovely and welcoming. The space itself is absolutely stunning . Both the hostess and the waitress were warm and attentive.
Food:
The Curry Mussels and Butternut Squash were good. The Brisket was okay, but the mashed potatoes it came with were very heavy on Dijon or some kind of mustard base, which isn’t my preference. The string beans were lovely. Unfortunately, the bass was extremely mid and almost completely tasteless. It needed at least salt and pepper. I was genuinely disappointed with my entrée overall. The rice was cold, flavorless, and the portion was barely half a spoonful.
As a chef born in the islands, I was really excited to try this restaurant, so the lack of flavor was especially surprising and disappointing. I did let the waitress know so she could pass the feedback to the chef. I felt it was important to leave this review in hopes that the kitchen team might taste their dishes with fresh eyes (and closed eyes!) and reconsider what’s being served.
Dessert & Drinks:
The pumpkin cheesecake was good, and the drink I ordered was delicious.
Atmosphere:
The music was cool. I was seated at the last table in the back, which felt a bit tucked away, but overall the dining experience wasn’t bad.
I won’t be returning for the food, but I might come back for drinks at the bar and the jazz—hopefully I’ll actually get to see the jazz next time if it’s part of what I’m paying for.
Thank you for having me.

Our party of four made a 130p Sunday brunch reservation. When we arrived, we were warmly greeting and immediately seated, with the sounds of a live jazz by a female musician. The atmosphere is cozy, and clean. It’s not a big place but comfortable. Everyone enjoyed their (adult beverage) drinks and food. Food potions were plentiful, prices were reasonable, the menu had various options. The waiter was patient and attentive. The chef, Toney came out and briefly talked to our party at our table-that was a nice touch. We will be back, and recommend Zollies to our friends and family.

Cutest little restaurant, loved the art on the walls! We started with some cocktails that were well made and delicious. The Brie appetizer was good -fresh fruit, prosciutto and capicola – but would have liked the brie more melted. Entrees were Catfish and Veal chop, both were delicious and the roasted brussel sprouts were sweet, savory and yummy. Definitely will be going back on a night with live music!
