We have tried handling this in a much calmer manner, but, Chris over at Corporate refuses to acknowledge anything, so I am left with no option but to leave this review.

On Jan 31st I was prepping for a half marathon. I didn’t eat the whole day and waited to eat a carb heavy dinner, from a restaurant I had previously been to and loved (Zitos). Myself, my sister and her fiance do not live together but we all ate together that evening. Within an hour of eating, we all began to feel extremely sick. Within hours, all the food poisoning symptoms had kicked in. I got it the worst out of the three of us, but all 3 of us were feeling either nauseous, had to use the restroom frequently or both. I had been going to the restroom so frequently and became so dehydrated within hours, that I couldn’t go and was in more pain.

To say my half marathon was ruined would be an understatement. Trying to run with what I was feeling, was uncomfortable to say the least. I kept trying to drink water and stay hydrated but by mile 10 (out of 13) I could no longer keep down fluids. When I got to the end, I tried drinking water and Powerade and was not able to keep it down. After using the restroom, I became extremely pale and began to pass out but was caught and security was called and I was taken to the medic tent immediately via wheelchair. This medic tent was fully staffed by Drs and nurses from a local hospital. During the initial exam I told them when I ate, when I started feeling sick and they immediately said food poisoning (because I was not able to keep fluids down or in), was what I was possibly dealing with. They ended up having to hook me up to IV fluids. Again- the final conclusion and diagnosis from Drs was food poisoning.

On Feb 1st we were promised a refund by assistant manager Johnathon. On Feb 2nd, Maria from corporate called me and was offered a free meal at another location. I told her no and I’d like the refund we were promised. She said she couldn’t so she’d call corporate and follow up with me. That never happened, so my sister called yesterday to follow up. Maria said that I had never mentioned the refund and she’d call corporate. My sister asked to be connected because that’s exactly what I was told the week before and knew that I had in fact, mentioned the refund.

Chris from corporate, got on the phone and had a very condescending and aggressive tone. He then asked why I hadn’t called if I had gotten sick and I quickly hopped in and explained how I was extremely sick the day she called and we were told we were getting a refund and call back, so why would I be calling? He then began questioning the medical professionals that helped treat me. I told him from a business standpoint, promising a refund and not honoring it isn’t ethical and he said he disagreed. He had no problem telling me that choosing not to eat was the wrong choice because he has also run many marathons and he knows what’s right from wrong (news flash: not every body is the same and people can prep for a marathon, half marathon, 5k or whatever they’re prepping for, however they want! There is no right or wrong). He also said food poisoning takes 4 hours or more (Per the CDC and John Hopkins Univ: cases with particular bacteria, symptoms can start within 30 minutes). He insisted a refund was not happening and we can get a gift card. We went back and fourth for a few minutes and when he started to become more aggressive, I told him that I was recording that call for both parties and he said he don’t give permission to be recorded and hung up. When my sister called back, she got out of the car to speak to him separately without me. In that, he refused to speak to her and the woman she spoke with (Julia) laughed as well and wouldn’t let my sister speak and hung up on her as well.

The lack of professionalism on the corporate level is genuinely concerning. All we wanted was our $70 back since the food wasn’t finished and we all got sick. We weren’t asking for anything else and it was promised and then refused. I will never trust or eat at a Zitos, again.

Had many wonderful times here with friends and family. Food was excellent best pizza around for sure. Meat Lovers with Mushrooms and the Zito’s Special is my groups favorite. Amazing chicken wings (buffalo and lemon pepper flavors are really good), garlic knots and pepperoni rolls. Also the cinnamon and sugar knots are great dessert items. Really good pasta, salad and sandwiches. Honestly everything on the menu is worth trying.
The service is great. Friendly faces and good attitudes with caring attention.
The atmosphere is a classic pizza place which always feels good. Always a great vibe with friends, family or date night. Nice arcade as well.
Overall Zito’s is a always a great time.

To start with I am from Fort Wayne, Indiana. It has taken almost two weeks to find any decent food in this area. I have been to my fair share of pizza places but this one is amazing. From the dough to the sauce!!! Ok, the cheese as well. Absolutely delicious and amazing! Friendly staff and amazing food! The Calzones are huge, the garlic bread is to die for. The stuffed sausage sooo good.. a must-try spot if you’re ever in Anaheim.

Never been in here before but I’ve seen this place whenever I’m driving by. Someday after I graduate from Chapman and parking in the Old Towne Orange area is trash, I’ll pick this place to pick up a nice meal for myself and get some garlic bread for my younger brother to enjoy.

Great chill spot to catch a game, hang out for drinks and have some good food. Recommend to check out their specials and they also have an arcade area and lots of tv’s to watch the game. Will definitely be back !

I try to give a place another chance when they mess up an order.
I had been getting pizza here for a long time. There garlic knotts are what kept me coming back, pizza could be a hit or miss.
But I’m sad to say that I can will never pay for there pizza ever agian .

Tonight we got 2 pizzas ,this is a Margaret.

Its always been really good but this is now the 3rd order of pizza in a row completely thrown together like they just don’t care. The other 2 orders same way, half of the pizza has hardly any ingredients, the other has them but has hardly anything that I paid for on it.
The pizza is like they tossed the dough in grease before adding the cheese , when you pick up a slice is soaked in oil grease top and bottom.

Absolutly disgusting, we just ended up going to the park across the street and giving it to the homless people. I could not even keep it for myself. The knotts tonight were ok, they actually burnt some a bit.

I hope this is not the new way to cook the knotts , if so they have lost a customer for life.

Wow! so the wings were delicious, we got the regular with ranch, we got the side dinner salad really good enough to split for two, like a small side salad. We got the veggie pizza, they put the wrong order side in but fix it no problem were super apologetic about it and made it to no charge of us. When we originally placed the order we said no tomatoes and they were nice enough to ask if we wanted to swap it for the extra pepperoni we wanted to put on, that was so nice they didnt have too, but did with no charge. The bread was REALLY good and deliciously golden brown, slight crisp on the outside and the bread was fresh and fluffy on the inside. ( NO GOOEY DOUGH AT ALL!) EVERYONE! was super nice great tea variety, cool little section for games (did not play any, no time). I would recommend to anyone. Big enough for a large gathering and small enough to hide in the corner for two. It was my first time here and I would definitely come back again. I actually can’t wait, the only request I guess I would have being a salad person would be to add some romaine to the iceberg lettuce mix. I always have salad with my wings and/ or pizza no matter what and that makes or breaks my experience. All and all great place, my only negative, which I know can happen at any restaurant, was that someone overflowed the woman’s bathroom. I wish as slow as it was, that it was cleaned up better just a trash can and sign blocking the door still water all over the floor, and into the next stall.

The service was fantastic and accommodating – the staff were friendly and went out of their way to ensure my order was exactly what I wanted. We ordered a medium pizza, half chicken BBQ and half pepperoni, which was delicious and cooked to perfection. The side salad was also fresh and tasty. All of this came with a drink for a very reasonable price of $32. Overall, I highly recommend.
