We passed this place all week driving to Schweitzer mountain ⛷️ so obviously we had to stop on the last day on our way out of town.
Zips is impressive, and by that I mean don’t judge a book by its cover. We got the #1, double cheese burger, fries and huckleberry shake.. first off, the shake was amazing. It was the best part. Fries dipped in the shake were another level. Highly recommended you stop here!

The kid behind the counter taking money looks like he’s been working on cars out back. His sweatshirt is absolutely filthy! His hands have black car grease all over them. He then goes back to cook our food. Absolutely disgusting. I’ve now spent $36 on lunch and more than likely it will all go in the trash. This is unacceptable in the food business. Tables are filthy and the front door! We will 100% not be back and I will make sure people know what we experienced. I can’t believe the owner allows this!

carry coke products so I don’t get any kind of soda from them.

Stopped for a quick BRB. While son was paying the water bill, I ordered a large fry so that we could try this place out. While there was not high expectations, the fries were fried absolutely perfectly! Super crispy crinkle cut fries with nice seasoning. Only knock was the portion size for large for $5 was disappointing.

We got a chicken sandwich, a burger, and a bucket of criss-cross cut fries. The sandwiches were good as were the fries. There was a seasoning on the fries that I wasn’t a fan of but my husband liked them! We went thru the drive thru and SHOUT OUT to Devin, our server!

I’ve eaten at Zips for years, frequenting the locations in Richland, Ritzville, Cheney and even in Rathdrum. This is the first time I’ve gone inside the Ponderay Location on US 95. We went to the counter and ordered and I started looking around, specifically in the kitchen, and I stopped the order and we left. It was dirty. It was grimier than I would ever be comfortable with while eating in an establishment. The entire restaurant needs to be steam cleaned from top to bottom. There was garbage on the floor in the corners and thick grease and dirt on many surfaces. It was run down and just looked like it hadn’t been deep cleaned in years. I love Zips, so this was a disappointment. I hope they take a day and deep clean the restaurant. The people in front of us left without ordering as well, which really says something. I don’t post this to be mean, but in hopes they take some accountability and get this location back to where it needs to be so people can feel good eating there.

The menu is REALLY hard to read as it flippes by so FAST! Someone needs to FIX IT! The women’s restroom is not working, the men’s restroom only half works, the tarter sauce wouldn’t come out of the pump very well.
The FOOD was definitely worth all the other stuff not working so good! The management needs to step up their game! Summer is coming and they will be slammed all the time!!
