You don’t stick around for 100 years without making a few friends. Zips embodies that. The food is pretty straight forward Cincinnati burger fare, but they do it well. Always a few good beers on tap, and the kids still love the train.

I had to check this out after a colleague kept raving about it. It was a great burger with a really fresh thick juicy patty. Definitely worth to check it out.

I would say a 5 out of 5. It was cool to experience a business that’s been in business for 100 years. It takes a lot to accomplish that milestone. The burger, beer and fries were very delicious.

Seems like Zips is living off of old reputation. The burger could be the most bland I’ve ever had in a restaurant. No seasoning whatsoever. Incredibly overrated. Honestly, a Whopper blows this away. Years ago, when it was under $10 for a burger and fries I’d give it a pass. People who think this is a good burger haven’t tasted a good burger apparently.

Hard to deny the fact that they offer up a killer burger that checks all of the boxes. Even though the place was filled with families around 4:00 on a Saturday, they don’t offer any kid’s options. $18 for a burger and fries for a 9 year old isn’t exactly “reasonable.”

The place has a warm vintage vibe coupled with a friendly staff. It’s probably a better place to visit without kids just to grab a drink and a quick bite.

My mom & dad used to live in Mount Lookout and have always loved Zip’s, and now my brother & I do too! It’s one of those places that stands the test of time & keeps people coming back.

We visited during the very busy lunch rush and had about a 10-15 minute wait to be seated. The staff kept things moving and got us settled quickly. There was a roughly 30 minute wait for the food, but it was definitely worth it. Everything came out hot, fresh, & delicious.

My parents mentioned the chilli portion was a bit smaller than remembered and were a bit hungry afterwards, but overall the quality and flavor of the food made up for it. Zip’s continues to be a family favorite, and we’d love to go back again sometime soon!

Their burgers are a special blend of different meats. They are fresh meat and come with all the toppings and mayo. The fries are fresh and plentiful. It’s a small, unique place that has been there for years. If you go, arrive early or you might have to wait.

They’ve increased the prices pretty significantly, but it’s still one of my favorite places to go.
The chili and burgers are fantastic and fries perfect crispness in an old “hole in the wall” that has been preserved for a step back to a simpler time. The community tables lead to fun conversations with strangers or a booth tucked out of the way. Love the trains circling up top. I’ve been going there for 30 years and is a must stop whenever I’m home

Zip’s is on every list of best burgers in Cincinnati. We had to try it for ourselves. My husband ordered the Girth burger with cheese, and I had the Zip burger with cheese. Burgers were cooked well and were very juicy. We also split a chili cheese fry(yum!). The food was all very good, but we thought it was expensive for the portions.
The biggest downfall (and what would prevent us from returning in the future) is the atmosphere here. There is no hostess, and it is first come, first served. The dining room is very small, with no real waiting area. We were unfortunate to get a table near the door, so we were surrounded by people hovering over our table the entire time we were seated. We even had someone reach across our table to grab a menu!
The other drawback is parking. It is on street parking and depending on the time of day, you may have to park up the road a ways.
Zip’s is worth a visit, but I recommend going at an off time during the week for smaller crowds and better parking.

Quaint little restaurant in the heart of Mt. lookout. Seating is limited and is first come first serve. If you are lucky enough to find a seat you seat yourself. Atmosphere is historic woodwork original hardwood floors, doors, tables and booths. A train runs around the top of room on a platform with hand painted murals on wall of the surrounding town. ZIP burgers were delicious as well as the fries were crisp and golden brown. Chili was a delicious addition on top of the fries. A must try. Definitely will return again!
